As mentioned in previous posts, my midlife crisis 911 has arrived in the form of 997 GTS cabriolet and I have traded in the Challenge. 13 months ownership was great, the exhaust on and sports mode selected was default setting which always brought a smile to my face. Downsides of this model are minimal but runflat tyres give too harsh a ride with sports chassis and make first and second gear redundant in all but warm, dry conditions and provoked unnecessary understeer in damp, cooler conditions. If I was keeping the car for longer the first change would be to the tyres. The brakes are not up to the job and I feel the jcw versions should have been specced for this car as it is bound to be bought by people who like to drive at a fair rate and require the brakes to match the speed. Other than these 2 points, great fun car which now can be had for under £20k, bargain! If anyone is looking for a well made and high spec hot hatch I would thoroughly recommend it.

Honestly, coming from a C63 to the Challenge, I didn't feel dissapointed and now going from the Challenge to one of the better 911's I still think it was a bit of an event to drive...... why.....?

Jcw pro exhaust......!!
