My girlfriend has a Cooper D in Pepper White. Prior to that she had a One in Pepper White.

Both seem to be picking up no end of stone chips. It's a real pain the arse.

Does everyeone else suffer from this? She does do a lot of mileage, but I dont see this as any real excuse for excessive stone chips.

Wifey has an S in Astro black and it doesn't chip too badly. One of our cats is ruining it though. Once the weather is better I'll be getting it machine polished.

I have heard that metalic colours are also stronger/more chip resistant than the flat colours.

The road tar etc shows up so much on the Pepper White too.

It makes cleaning it quite upsetting lol.

I'll buy a chip pen and a claybar when the good weather comes.

I picked up quite a big chip courtesy of the gritters on Friday night, first one worth mentioning in 20k though (Chilli red).

Mine seems to be peppered with little chips at the front. But just noticed a nice chunky one on the front of the roof, where it's chipped the white. Will popping down to Halfords to get one of their white chip pens later. frown

Hang back a bit further from the car in front and you'll avoid most of those stone chips wink

Not something I've really suffered and I've got a black car so would really show...

Minis have generally hard paint when considering the relative hardness/softness of all cars paint
