What a cr@p garage - I would be so angry that they sold a car without enough oil in it. I would write to them now so that they know you will want a free engine from them when/if the engine goes pop.

At least on the R53 you get a proper dipstick - the plastic one on the R56 is hopeless!

It was the main BMW MINI dealership, they'd been very good up until that point, still can't believe they did that, they did the oil change there and then when i took it in,i won't be going back to them when my years warranty is up,that's a fact!!

Some R53s use a bit of oil, usually leads to top end rattling when run for long periods with low levels, usually women drivers.

I'm not your typical woman,i always check my oil, screenwash etc myself when i wash it which is usually every couple of weeks,it shouldn't have been low on oil when they sold me it,good job i checked it when i did!!

Well, the next developement is that when i checked my oil again a couple of weeks ago,i noticed that the level had gone down on the dipstick again and have started noticing patches underneath it,"oh no,not again "i thought,so took it back to the dealership again and it turns out it now has a small oil leak rolleyesmad and is booked back in to be sorted next week, under warranty of course. When will this end i ask myself!!
