First time posting on this forum. I'm thinking of changing my golf gti edition 30 for a cooper S to get some cashback and lower running costs.
I've found a 56 plate (turbo not supercharge model) 37k mileage S with all the extras - heated screen, seats, sunroof, nav, chilli, vision packs, MFSW, etc for £12.5k at a main dealer. Is this priced a little high or does the full spec justify this?
Also, this model has the lower co2/improved mpg, but..... Do the earliest turbo charged engines have lower mpg figures than later ones?
Some ads are quoting circa 31mpg urban and 40 combined for this 56 plate whereas the later 57 onwards are quoted as having 35mpg urban and 45 combined?
I'm confused!
Efficient Dynamics came in, in late Sept 2007. The wife's car (pre-ED just) averages 37-38 mpg overall.

Is the car at a dealers or a private sale?

Glass's Guide is valuing a 2007/56 plate car at around £8k trade-in, a dealer would normally add around £2k to this for the AUC check, preparation, wheel refurb etc.....

If it's the former then it's a little on the high side, if it's the latter, then it's over priced IMHO.

The MPG figures you are quoting are pre & post ED.

Wobert - thanks v.much for the info wink
So what is the "real-life" mpg averages for the post-ED (never heard of ED!?)?
The car is a Dec 2006 and is at a main dealer.
The spec is perfect, the colour is my first choice both interior and exterior.
The problem is i need £3k cash-back on my Golf Edition 30 and they're offering £13k when it's a £15000-£15500 car!

Very similar price to our recent purchase - 07 MCS 34k leather chilli nav etc. so I'd say strong for a dealer unless it's a main agent.

So hopefully people will be biting my wife's hand off when her car goes on at £9950, with just 16k more miles, a recent full service and new rear brakes! :-)

Or perhaps I'm under-pricing it for a quick sale!????

It might be worth extending the TLC as that runs out at 50k. smile
