Hi, Today I joined MINI ownership with the purchase of this Cooper S, coming from, of all things, DB9 volante ownership:
The MINI is a great car - really enjoying it. Very nippy and fun around town. I had the black go-faster stripes added. Apparently they add 20mph to the top speed. Is that right?
Also, given the wedding at the end of the week, couldn't resist some black jack mirror caps.
Initial impressions:

Initial impressions:
- I like the sport button and particularly how it improves the throttle responsiveness.
- it goes round corners better than my DB9 did
- aircon is very noisy. Is it meant to be like that?
- elicits favourable reaction from the young people at work, from my wife and from my three boys, so that makes me happy.
- very easy to drive. Didn't want to get out of the car on the test drive.
Grayr, nice choice yourself.
A few more days in and I'm realy liking the solidity of the MINI. The doors are heavy, which makes me feel protected and trusting in the car. The MINI has a BMW feel to it. We had BMW 318 a few years back, which was the most competent (if not luxurious or speedy) car I have ever owned. The MINI inspires the same confidence. A well as being a whole lot of fun.
