Anyone got any pics af the GK stand from NEC?
I did say there would be 'Something Special' in Hall 19... but NO-ONE anticipated the "Double de-Bruyne!". Yes, that is John de Bruyne standing alongside THE de Bruyne GT car - which he clearly still thinks is wonderful.

I spent a few hours last night rummaging through boxes of stuff.

Door handles are Rover P4 right?

Boot lock is from?

Its got electric wipers and two bloody great servo's, so why is there a vacuum tank?

Cheers oneof99, I suspected the "something special" might be the De Bruyne but you're right, I didn't anticipate the double. Sorry I couldn't make it.

Answers:-
Rover P4, Correct
Boot Lock = BMC 1100 (ish) N.b. Operating arm differs.
Vacuum Tank - "So you still have (servo-ed) brakes, long after the motor stops!"

Good hunting...

Neither did I... and the 'introductions' were surreal:-

(1) There is a load of filler in that white car...

(2) Who says?

(1) I do. I should know. I built it. I'm John de B !!!

(2) Pleased to meet you. Can we take your photo ?

Just a couple more shots from the NEC:

And a copy of the Evening News 1977 article which David found in the sheaf of papers with the de Bruyne - I thought it did look quite interesting before eventually realising, with David's prompting, that of course it features my car!!

Thought that Ch.65 looked superb at the NEC - a credit to both its owner and the marque.

Was pleasantly surprised with the de Bruyne... looks so much better in the flesh! Well, the frontal aspect anyway; really don't like the rear end, but that is just my personal opinion of course.

See Godin Banks have reduced its asking price to a mere £19,995.00p.

Well spotted TX GT. I deliberately 'didnt ask' but am assured, it IS to be sold.

Thanks David.

What is the steering rack from? I guess mine is one of the Ernie Knott jobs.

Are the window frame screws BA or BSW? They dont appear to be UNC or metric. Does anybody know?

They could be 4BA at 38TPI of 1/8 BSW at 40 TPI, need to find my thread gauge really.

BA! Send Santa a note:-
" A good supply of 2BA Hex head & Countersunk in Chrome or Stainless "
- fits most electrical / trim items on G-K !

However, from memory, the 'hinge screws' may be 4BA, not 2BA.

V10Mike, I've just realised that this is your car with a different set of wheels. Are they the Realm alloys? Long term I'm looking to replace Ch76's Wolfies with something more like the originals And the Realm alloys are the closest match.

...I know you do, don't think they're going to be available for a while though I'm afraid. Hoping to get them refurbed to original appearance in the new year, that's assuming I can find somebody to turn them spray the slots & laquer them for a good deal leass than the Realms. Either way I probably won't replace them until 2014/15 but rest assured, you're top of the list when I do.

We must be due some more photos Huntsman, you've had a whole weekend to spend on it since the last lot.

B7trr has been very quiet recently, still waiting to see those bumpers on the car.

Hi to all GK Pistonheads!

You may have noticed that, of late, the Keebling magazine has 'lost' a few of its pages. The editor advises that this is due to a lack of material. He's conscious of some of the great stuff being put up on this forum - pictures of centre consoles re-carpeted (nice job, by the way!), man-sheds under way, works in progress on various cars - but this is only seen, or known about, by a few!

How about sending these items to the editor, as well as to this site? That way, we can all enjoy the popular "Work in Progress" page(s) that sometimes appear and can hopefully feature, in an edition soon, some more enties for "My Garage" (see Vol.42, No.1) The editor's email is shown on P2 of the magazine.

In the meantime, best wishes to you all for Christmas and the New Year, and thanks for the enthusiasm and entertainment!!
