Are there any GK owners out there who are going to be joining in with the 50th celebrations at the end of the month..?
Will certainly be there over the weekend, actually I think it's a "black ball" offence for owners not to attend. Unfortunately, not doing Beaulieu though. Ch76 now has first coat of primer but don't have photos yet.

I remember the first time I encountered a Gordon Keeble was at a Classic car auction in 1989/90. The car had no glass with it and was in primer from memory, absolutely fell in love with it!

Would love to know what happened to that car...

At last:

They're very proud of the shut lines:

Some of the work involved in getting those nice shut lines, looks expensive frown

Looks good Mellow and worth every penny especially if Quentin Wilson`s right about those GK prices!

He'd better be, although I'm hoping 76 will do another 50 years after this which will see me out.

Mellow, door fit looks excellent- not easy! Appears from the photo as though you have ventilation ducts from the boot to the rear screen- do they work?

Altissimo Tail Light Gaskets

I did post this briefly a few days ago but then withdrew it when I thought Maranello had them in stock, it turns out they don't and I've not managed to find any elsewhere at a reasonable price. This refers to the gasket between the light and the bodywork, not the internal one between lense and taillight. I've found a company prepared to produce a small run of around 40 gaskets, price would be around £40 per pair (inc VAT). I'm trying to gauge interest to see if this is viable. Let me know if you'd be interested in a set at that price.

Keeble Kid, I believe you're probably the only person on the planet who has both variants of the Altissimo light (with and without reversing light), do they use the same gasket? BTW, both types were used on Ferrari 250 GTE:

Is this gasket between the light unit and the body or the lenses and the light unit? Either way, put my name on a set.

Would be interested in a set for Ch.74… which has the integrated reversing light.

Many thanks!

If everyone doesn't have GK fatigue after the end of June, how about the following event in Chantilly on 7 September:

Category 5 looks to be a decent fit!

"The Gordon-Keeble story may be one of bad luck...The thrill they can offer is utterly undiminished." Classic Cars Aug 2014.

I have just received my (subscription) copy... On sale from 25th June. Nigel Bootham has done a brilliant job (IMHO) - 6 pages about 'the car' - based on a drive around Jims Test Route in Ch20, followed by 4 pages based on an interview / archive material from Derek Baker, (Jim Keeble's 'apprentice').

As they say, "Follow that"... "G-K 50th" starting 27th June!!

Re: gaskets, will try and find a few more takers at the 50th but I think there are enough to make it worth doing anyway, I'm pretty sure buyers can be found for any surplus. The handle is pre-Ch76, dates back to this:

...which I had to sell to buy a staircase, regret selling it but life is easier without the ladder and it's a nice staircase.

Looking forward to the weekend (albeit apprehensively) be nice to put faces to a few names.

So, I've collected the Keeble from storage this evening, and the differential, which has always made a bit of a whirring noise, is now quite loud. Any bright ideas of how to keep it alive over the weekend, apart from changing the oil? I've got to make it last for ~350 miles!! (or at least make it to Southampton and trailer home).

Morning V10Mike.

Oil change aside, you could give Alan Slawson a call on 07831 163158, he's the chap who rebuilt my diff and a few others on Keebles, he might be able to advise you better or at least tell you the chances of making the trip. Hope it helps and best of British!
