Nice pictures everyone. Mellow: 75 and 76 don't look much like their respective snapshots on the club web site any more!

Hi Mellow Yellow, I haven't seen GK76 since I was a young lad when my father, who originally bought it from GK, used to take me to school in it.

I am delighted that it is in such good condition and even though it isn't in the original Burgundy - it looks fantastic,

I'm new to pistonheads so don't know if it is possible to get in contact privately, but if it is, please do so. I would love to see the car again - some 40+ years on!

Yep, not really terribly 'period' but in keeping with the event.

...Have supplied an updated snap but these things take time to filter through.

The boating season is nearly over so I have some time to crack on with 57.

I've bought new door handles from David Y, there must be a part that fits onto the handle so when you press the button it operates the latch?

Spares availble? Photos?

YES ! Like most of Jim Keeble's work - simple but effective:-

The parts required, per handle, are ' 2.75inch long 2BA bolt or machine screw' plus a tubular sleeve 2 inches long. {Mine is 2.0 inches, including 2 plain washers}.

Question Does anyone know how other 'small' clubs provide this type of 'consultancy'? I supplied the handles on a 'cost + postage' basis, some time ago. It has just taken 30+ minutes to strip the interior door furniture / remove the door card / remove the handle. Measure & Photograph said part(s). Replace...There are 'hundreds' of similar items to query on a full G-K rebuild!!

PS G-K Website - Will be updated this week.

PPS G-K will be featured in the 8th October issue of CCWeekly!

" Enjoy "

Thanks David, per my email I've found one of the spacers. Just need to order a long 2BA bolt.

I am inching fwds.

To answer your question, yes, I do exactly that for a club, not a car club, a boat club, I spend several hours every week answering emails and phone calls giving advice to owners in stife and wouldbe owners.

I'm sure the help I offer is as gratefully recieved and the help you offer Keeble owners.

Along the bottom of the drop glass inside the door is a metal channel that grips along the glass, does anyone know if this is from another car or if Keeble made it?

Hi, Huntsman,
When I was restoring nr. 14,I made those up from a U-channel 10/10 mm outside.A 3 cm wide and 1mm thick piece of flat is welded with mig(spot) on one side. The special lifting part can be attached on that flat. The glass will fit inside the U-channel and can be glued with polyurethane (Tic-7). I made two channels but used only one.
So there is one left with the current owner of 14...

Hi Dirk, very pleased with the book thanks.

David Y has got the part for the window, just need to weld it together.

Decided to go to the next Goodwood Breakfast Club - it's Vee Power Sunday on 2nd November, so will be taking #60 along, and have had confirmation that it's got a place on start/finish line.

Any one else going along?

I shall be there too. Albeit mostly to look at them all & have a final early morning blast of the year.

Lets hope another GK comes down too but it'll be great to see one for the final time this year, a year in which I've seen more of them then ever!

GK52 and Mellow, please can you confirm colours of 75 and 76? 30 is stripped and I have been considering something period based on a gunmetal grey. Oneof99 was there a GK colour to this spec originally?

YES! The colour is "Metallic Sunset Grey". Today it is only seen on Ch65 (The cars original colour, has been re-painted, but is 'very close' if not 'exact'. Several other G-K were originally Sunset Grey, but they have sadly had a colour change...

Sunset Grey looks a little light for gunmetal, but according to Charles and Ernie's books original colours were solid white, bright red, wedgwood blue, and metallics in regal red, dark grey, blue, light green, dark green, sunset grey and golden sand. Certainly when I took 77 back to the gel coat the bottom colour was a dark grey and I assume that it was originally metalic dark grey.

It would be interesting to know what other Keebles are still in their orognal shade (I think I know of a metalic light green one!)so if people wanted to go back to an orignal colour they would have a referrence point.

When I looked up the paint code for mine (Ch 48), an ICI code starting P031, it was labeled as Jaguar Opalescent Dark Green. Its a fairly popular colour on the pre 66 S1 E-type and some Mk11s I think. If you search Jaguar E Type colours you will find a link to a Jag page with all the pre 66 colours and their paint codes. I think the Dark and Light Blues and maybe the Sand were Jag colours but 1 of 99 would be able to confirm. I think the Regal Red was a Rolls colour and I suspect the Wedgewood was the Triumph / Lotus colour. Certainly the Opalescent Jag colours are easy to get hold of. Having said that, I ended up with a RR / Bentley colour (Brewster Green Metallic) which is close to original but metallic rather than opalescent and slightly brighter. Good luck with the agony of the decision Sussex Keebler !

=Altissimo Tail Light Gaskets=

I did post this briefly a few days ago but then withdrew it when I thought Maranello had them in stock, it turns out they don't and I've not managed to find any elsewhere at a reasonable price. This refers to the gasket between the light and the bodywork, not the internal one between lense and taillight. I've found a company prepared to produce a small run of around 40 gaskets, price would be around £40 per pair (inc VAT). I'm trying to gauge interest to see if this is viable. Let me know if you'd be interested in a set at that price.

Keeble Kid, I believe you're probably the only person on the planet who has both variants of the Altissimo light (with and without reversing light), do they use the same gasket? BTW, both types were used on Ferrari 250 GTE:

Chef, did anything come of this? I need a pair.

Hi Huntsman, yes I think that's the one for the G-K`s with the Ferrari lights the earlier cars with Fiat lights have a much bigger gasket.
