Can anybody tell me that these two items are?

The shiney one has a key slot in the otherside, I have 2 of them. The black one is singular.

"Well Done" B7Trr & GK52 {Bonnet prop socket & fuel filler cap 'centre'} I concur!

Huntsman, looks from your photo as though the 'breathe hole' has been chromed over?

Hi GK52 were the fuel caps a pain to take apart and get rechromed?I remember doing Rover P6 ones and they were a `mare to put back together. How is the car running and do you use an additive in the fuel to protect against unleaded petrol?

Fuel cap is relatively simple to take apart and re-chrome. More difficult to put pack together as the extra metal makes the hinge tighter. If yours are not in great shape worth checking the cost to restore versus new ones from oneof99.

Excellent, thanks, that now makes sense, I have 2 dismantled filler caps that have been re-chromed but are badly pitted and not really good enough, I also have two later style filler caps, with locks and key, but they are ugly!

Hi All,

Just thought I'd add a couple more pics... A few more GKs have now made an appearance with Terry Harris.

GORDON KEEBLE CH#30 ~ Chassis Refurbishment

Having spoken with the owner of CH#30 I am now able to put some pictures up of the chassis being refurbished... Firstly we needed to get the chassis up onto our flat race car building jig, this gives us a perfectly flat surface to work from as a reference.

As with all these hand built chassis's nothing is perfectly square as they do take a form and flex over the years... All those flex's and bow's have to be put back as to enable the body to slide back on nice and snug.

He follows some pictures of the chassis before we started...

Not meant to scare just a pictorial view of a chassis refurbishment...

Regards Daryl. (Terry's Son - the computer literate one in the family).

I'd have thought starting a brand new chassis more cost effective than repairing that.

I thought the book did very well on ebay, anybody here the proud new owner?

Huntsman,

Funny we only mentioned the other day that it would be nice to build a brand new chassis, the only problem being you'd never find a body to fit as they all take a form over the years and fit very very snugly...

I see you in Southampton, not too far from my dads garage in NW London.

Will put some progress pictures up later in the week...

Regards Daryl
