It's all gone a bit quiet here, got those bumpers fitted yet B7trr? How's the man shed coming along huntsman?
And those leek munching gilbern boys were up top of the forum briefly, that'll never do.Manshed coming along well, base laid and timberwork half done, hopefully be largely finished this weekend!! then it'll be action stations for GK57. I've been like a small greedy child in a large well stocked sweet shop.

No bumpers not fitted yet Mellow, not done anything to 81, calm before the storm....
I'm busy with my manshed so I know how you feel Huntsman! Base down, steel frame up, roof on, feather edge done, roller door collected today. I estimate 2 more weekends to completion of Gordon's house ( the daughters name for it) then it's to work on the refurb.
Good to read that 76's running well.
Current status of the new shed. All walls are up, cladding about 90% done, the remainder is cut to length and needs banging on, joists are on, firings are on, roof sheets are up there waiting to be banged down. Doors, window and electrics need doing.
Its an odd shape as I've built into into the back of the garden, across the back is 14ft, across the front is 18ft, one side is 24ft and the other is 26ft, a reasonable size for rebuilding a car.

Looks like we've about at the same stage Huntsman! Numerous square feet so nearly ready for boys toys. Its an odd shape as I've built into into the back of the garden, across the back is 14ft, across the front is 18ft, one side is 24ft and the other is 26ft, a reasonable size for rebuilding a car.
What stage is your body shell Huntsman, are you looking to refresh the paint work? I've got a Company in mind for 81 but always good to ask others.

I'm going to put it on the road for a good long shake down first, while the paint isn't perfect its something I could live with for a while. What stage is your body shell Huntsman, are you looking to refresh the paint work? I've got a Company in mind for 81 but always good to ask others.
Just collected Ch76 last night after some further fettling by Terry (fueling issues and 3rd gear selection), all sorted now, wow what a difference. Weather was miserable but I think it's the first time I've driven it and it's felt like the car I'd hoped it would be. I was beginning to doubt the quoted acceleration times but now I don't doubt they're in the right ballpark. To my shame, I couldn't resist embarassing a Merc SLK exiting a traffic island, I'd not even dropped out of top! All a bit late for the 2012 season, may squeeze in a trip to "Continental Classics" breakfast club on Sunday if it's dry, but looking forward to getting more miles under my belt in 2013.
Hope you're going to keep us posted with plenty of pictures over the Winter Huntsman.

Found a very reasonably priced company for classic pressed aluminium black/silver plates at Goodwood that I meant to post up. Jepson Classic plates in Sheffield (http://www.jepsonclassicplates.com), £18.38 for a standard plate inc VAT and delivery (£19.40 with border). They also do bespoke plates for £61.28 was thinking of having one made to fit the Rover plinth.
Adrian Flux, About £170 for 3000 miles pa, garaged in West Sussex, I'm 2 years younger than the car and have no accidents, claims or convictions plus full NCB although I don't think that's relevant on the policy, they wanted an extra £15 to include the wife. It's insured for market value but that's only because I haven't got around to supplying the photos etc. to convert it to agreed value, i.e price would be the same for agreed value of around £25-30k.
I would thoroughly recommend RH (part of the Equity group).

The GK premium was about £155 last time for unlimited mileage and any driver over 30. I also used them for my modern BMW and had to claim over £15,000 for a water-damaged engine, which they handled exceptionally well.

NEC - yes I will be there on the Sunday. Chassis 48 has started its disassembley so it will be inspiring to see a couple of 'whole ones' on the GK stand. I will stop by and look forward to meeting whoever is there. It was a visit to the NEC show back in the mid 2000s that really got me onto the GK path - Chassis 36 was sat there by the entrance door in its newly restored powder blue. I had to keep going back to see it one more time.
I will be at the NEC Friday, Saturday & Sunday mainly on the Daimler SP250 stand (selling my 2013 SP250 Calendars for the club funds - why not pop in and buy one!). We will have the only SP252 in the world on the stand (potential mark 2 version of the 'Dart') which is worth a look, as well as what is affectionately known as the 'Fishtank' SP250.
Hope to spend some time on the Gordon Keeble stand on Saturday and meet up with anyone who visits on that day.

Fantastic, looks almost finished, presumably you'll be driving it to NEC at the weekend?
I wish...I'm determined that'll i'll spend some time on the car everyday, even if that is only ten mins, yesterday was one such day, I finally got out there to look over the car at about 10pm, one thing I was very keen to do was a stock take of all the chrome trim and make sure I have it.
The good news is that all the major and complex pieces seems to be present.
Also, on a high note, I didn't find anything, a pleasant surprise given how little time I have spent looking over the car.
