So update

Chassis was sent away to a gilbern specialist, the chassis was as rotten as expected, it’s more or less new from bulkhead back, when it returned, I drilled out all the old pop rivets, filled the chassis rails with engine oil, the exterior was rubbed down, the front end painted in rust killer, then three coats of zinc primer added, topped off with three coats of POR 15 in semi gloss finish.

Last couple of weeks if made and fitted brake and fuel pipes, steering rack, cleaned out all the threads in the chassis, horn, master and clutch master refitted, rebuilt the axle, that’s due to be refitted next weekend, the front suspension has had to be completely striped back down and repainted, as came back badly scratched. So that is waiting to be put back on also, winter is closing in fast, so time at the garage will be over for another year, hope to get the engine stripped down over winter, ready to replace back into the chassis early springtime

So an update

I don’t come on here often, so it’s are now up to date of of last weekend, at long last the chassis is now rolling back on its four wheels for the first time in a year, taken longer than expected to get to this stage, but I had a pig of a job getting the front suspension back on, and carried on with other jobs till I was in the frame of mind to go back to it! But now it’s done!
Iv started repairing the inner panels now, with the boot area and rear seat base currently being worked on. First time doing fibreglassing, so learning as I go along, with the amount Iv got to do, I should be ok by the end of it!
Plenty of things to do, engine is waiting to be stripped and rebuilt once Iv saves a few pennies! That then with the gearbox go back into the chassis, before the body gets refitted.
