Travel adaptors

Does anyone have any actual experience of using the generic 'travel adaptors'in Italy, enabling use of UK 3-pin plugs in other countries.

I see that the Italian plug sockets appear to have 3 pins and I've read conflicting reports as to whether the universal adaptors, which I have, will actually fit. It would be good if someone can say that they have actually used them: previous experience of various 'universal' devices have had various success rates. I don't want to get there and find I can't use my devices.

Well, I can now say that they do fit
