can anyone recommend a good welder in Northampton (or nearby) please
it's a simple job but needs someone who knows what they're doing as some strengthing welding needs doing that doesn't then weaken the surrounding area (if that makes sense)
I've already been given the details of Terry at Ransome Road but I don't know of him and he's away this week

Jon at JC weldfab in wellingbough on the leyland estate. Gets my vote, reasonably priced quick and fantastic quality.

thanks but are they any good, able to work out how to improve things rather than just patching up do you think?
with this car and the previous I've had work done by so many specialist experts that have just turned out to be botch and con-artists and I never look for cheap work and try to go to the experts

Frank is very good, he's an engineer with a huge interest in cars.
John at JC weldfab is also very good, he has worked for several companies inc custom cages before setting up his own business, my own car is currently at JC weldfab having some welding done which is structural.
He makes a lot of f1, btcc, f3 etcetc stuff (lifting handles for the cars etc), can weld anything and his welding is a work of art.
If you speak to him, best bet is to call rather than email. They are a three man team. Tell him mark with the m5 sent you and hell look after you.

I finally got around to getting this job done
I called in yesterday and back this morning to get the work done
Frank at INOV8, tucked right up the corner of the units at the bottom of Ross Road (Edgar Mobbs Way end)
Frank done a good and careful job at a reasonable price so fully recommended
I did halfway through the job remember to mention broster
so thank you broster and thank you Frank at INOV8
Frank specializes in modified cars doing a wide range of work on them
