Clearly the lure of two Lancasters, Red Arrows, Canberra etc. has worked very well because this year's airshow is now SOLD OUT - so if you don't have a ticket please don't try and drive in regardless.

That's annoying - I've booked accommodation in the area, while a friend was supposed to be getting tickets.

Just contacted him to find out that, as it's never been a problem getting tickets on the day, he hadn't bothered getting them....

Grrr.

Anybody any idea if the Lancs will fly over today , looks doubtful.

No they didn't as they deemed the cross winds too risky. In fact, some of the older more fragile planes left the show early without doing their display because of the winds and difficulty getting the planes back home.

It was very blustery and well done to the pilots who did go up and fly, the Glider display was spectacular. I think it was something like 10,000 tickets sold.
