M1 roadworks J16-J19

So there was me waiting and waiting for the Highways Agency to remove the M1 roadworks between J16 and J19. Nothing happening. I decided to do a bit of Internet research... It seems they will be there for another 18 months!!!! They are now turning this stretch into a Smart Motorway (hard shoulder running with overhead gantrys etc.). FFS Why couldn't they do this work at the same time as the centre barrier? Annoyed (but at least I've got the A5 to enjoy ...).

Its madness i dont think they have a clue how to manage road works ,i use that section a few time a week and last few week its looked like the end was near but clearly not .
Ive been working in london regularly for last 9 years travelling down from Sutton Coldfield and i cant remember a time where there were no roadworks on the M1 .
