The 666 got at may "smart". Its all ready for test driving (Burg, Blipi, and other trusted members)

I Converted the car over to its wheels tonight, and took it out for a spin.

ET45 Fox 17x7" Rims, with Wellsmart supplied conversion kit. (I managed to find the 4 extra bolts I neeeded). Tyres:
Front: 205/40/R17
Rear : 215/40/R17.

Took it for a trip tonight, and the computer took 1 mile to get used to the new dynamics, it didnt even want to change gear at first!!!!

So 74KW TIK installed in 30 mins, along with piper-X filter and scoop. The TIK changed my squeek, to a flutter of air. Torque in the sub 3500 is improved, but fail to see the significance of the performance filter, or scoop.

Good handling, although the trust activated on rough surface, this may be my own confidence gown with the rubber installed, with more conviction into corners, with a firm feeling, and traction that is only let down with shocks.

This set up on a standard smart highlights the need for firmer springing for sure, but a vast improvement in cornering dynamics as expected.

Down side is road noise, and MPG a little (I presume).

Like a go cart? = eerm NO. Tramps under acceleration, dips into corners.
BUT = Twice as much fun as it was!

Yeah, I'll give it a go!

Drove a Navara over the weekend. Real lazy driving. Wasn't allowed off road though

The Burg was there when I fitted the 74KW Kit, but for some reason there was a part just hanging about not connected to anything.

It turns out it controls the turbo's boost pressure, and its called a cycle valve, these are disconnected on Smart Pure Coupe's, and give 10HP more on connecting them up. It had pipes on, so suspect in this cars past it was installed. The ECU needs time to adjust to any new features in the engine, so I shall be off to get spanners out and work out where the pipes should go. Blipi is my yard stick, so will install and either get from her or

Bit weird, if they were never connected why was it 'fitted'?
Get it done, mission for the afternoon, another 10hp, should be a bit mad really.
If you need the TORX bits they should be in my garage. Vics got house key. Let me know and i'll ring her.
So if the figures are right does that mean 110bhp? Thats only 10 less than my Passat and that hits 120mph and weighs around 47 tonnes.
Mind you thats verified full size HP not mini Smart hp!

Might explain the weird turbo noise or lack of whine?

No, reading through the forums, it means the 74KW kit, and performance upgrades allow for 100HP, but with what I have, and this little fellow connected means 61HP, then the full gains with the ECU flash allow for 74KW (99.8 HP) I think.

Still seems a little slow, I do know it takes 2 hours of driving before any mods have been "learnt". Your right the little squeak is a flutter, and no whine. Its a Garret G2 so should spool up nice.

Welcome back Blippi!

Mr Baker does this mean you have now fitted the Cycle Valve?
(Sounds more like washing machine bit to be honest), does it make better noises?

Get driving and get the 2 hours done! I want a go.
To kin hot here, air con on full, need internal aircon, ie beer?

Aye, I'm back. Dunno why though... My diet consisted mostly of meat from the fire and red wine! What a weekend! Haggis and black puddin cooked over the fire was Saturday's breakfast! Beeewwtiful!

I'll be happy to be your 'yard stick' Justin! When can I have a blip?

So, were they free range haggi Blips, or farmed? Did you guys snare them (on the downward spiral I hope, so the meat was a bit more tender than if they were lactic acid laden on the 'upward' twist)... and did you get the 'big' drumsticks or the weedy little 'uphill' ones. The wings are tasty too, but those tartan feathers are a bugger to pluck

Burn the feathers off on the fire, no problem. Had a lovely mix of free range, fast food from the chippy, mixed in kebab form and mass market standard type. Think they must be nearing an endangered species now!

Even brought a rather fine plump specimin home!

And a rather dodgy looking whole black pudding. Thank God my bags weren't examined...!
