Pete, do not step back to your BMW ways. They are usually driven by Sh1t drivers. Better the car being sh1t than you!

Besides, if I ever meet you at a junction in Brougton I'll never let you out ;o)

Whats that 2 seater hart top Honda thing? Nice looking motor! And reliable.

All you have to do is adjust your driving style accordingly; Don't wait for other road users to let you out, simply drive out anyway with the knowledge that they'll probably stop rather than crash into a heavy BMW!

Peter

I had a run past Rockingham classics this afternoon - He's got a beige (Yuk) Scimitar GTE for £1995 which you could probably get for less. Hadn't thoyght of those but they're reasonably quick and esy to maintian & fix.

He also has a nice M reg Merc but a bit too much money for yoru budget - several MG's and various others

Thanks for all your suggestions Alan, as you can see I ended up with the Beemer for a bargain price of £1240. She's quite retro inside and not particularly fast but a nice, quiet, solid drive with a lovely, smooth straight six growling away... Mmmmm... Straight six! lick

Retro pics to follow!

It's better than the standard Corsa/Zafira/Focus/Mondeo trend that's currently rife in our close!

Check out the eighties style sliding switchgear...

There's a tasteful analogue clock...

And look the stylish cloth interior - those chairs wouldn't look out of place in a care home...

Edited to add a simply genius feature; The boot obviously leaks, but BMW have anticipated this and included a handy container which catches all the water...

Could be a special humidifier to ensure all of the bullshit that been talked in this car continues to be viable as a fertiliser

Ooo yeah I think you have almost still not convinced me on BMW's!

The tasteless wood surround is a magic touch to. Goes so well in contrast to the horrid grey velur seats.

Does it smell of wee?!
