shout MATT! Any thoughts on 172s ?
great car, cornering and acceleration are fantastic, servicing is a bit steep if you want dealer servicing, insurance will kill you though because of your age and NCB

Matt, what sort of insurance costs were you paying for your 172?? I've always had a hankering for a proper 172 Cup as they're meant to be a very good car. What are servicing costs on them like ?? Anyone got any opinions on the newer 182 Cups??

mine wasn't the cup, I had the one with all the toys on it insurance was 750ish, with 1 claim and 6 points, servicing is expensive if you go to dealers, I think it was averaging 300qud a time. Other than that, they're a great car, and good fun to drive
Egomeister has got a 182 trophy

Thanks Matt, believe it or not if i dont end up with another TVR next i'm considering something like that as a fun replacement for a while. Also went to see a Lotus Elise today, just to see how i fitted in one...lol. It was an S2 sports tourer model, i have a lotus dealership just 10 mins down the road from me.

Well apart from having to polish up my contortionist act to get in and out it was fine...lol hehe I guess there must be an art to getting in and out of one!!

I liked the cabin and it was more airy then i imagined it would be. It even had something that resembles carpet in there and there was a stereo too!! Seemed like a very nice little car and the hood was'nt scary at all to take on and off!! Didnt take it for a drive though, i'll leave that for another time. Was a little disappointed to find out that for such a new car it did'nt have power steering...
