Every first Sunday of the month from April 3rd until Septemember at the Red Lion Evenley (2 minutes from Brackley - home of the Mercedes Formula One team)) All PH'ers welcome. The Red Lion run by Paul and Angie will be there to welcome you at there car-friendly pub.

Yes this is still happening. every first Sunday of the month from April until September. Starting at 9.30 am until the last car leaves really. It is hoped that we can get as many car enthusiasts there as possible to make this a 'must-do' event once a month.
The Red Lion Pub is a warm friendly pub that does great food so you might want to stay and enjoy some fine pub grub.
Hope to see you there. I'll be there in my red Caterham Supersprint.
Cheers,
Phil

Are you on commission?
Just my observation as all you post is about this event (which is the same date as the normal Sywell meet) and you don't take part in anything else, meets or forum.
(I don't know how this reads, but it is not an attack)

(I don't know how this reads, but it is not an attack) Funny you should say that. SquadronLeader is listed as South East Region. Local? Last info on web, admittedly 14 months ago said '"This pub is a great disappointment ... ... Although positioned in a wonderful situation the current management has succeeded in alienating itself from the local community. The food is glorified cafe fare and it is not suitable for a village location. The pub seems to be pitching ..." - 29 Dec 2009 ' Source http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?oe=utf-8&rls=org... fficial&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=Red+Lion+Evenley&fb=1&gl=uk&hq=Red+Lion&hnear=Evenley,+Brackley&ei=iKx3TYXXIcyChQfT7Nn3Bg&sa=X&oi=local_group&ct=image&resnum=4&ved=0CAQQtgMwAw&iwloc=4447963238394520887 ETA for balance: 5 Jul 2010 The proof is in the eating - give it a try! We are surprised to see that such a bad report has been posted, we have eaten here several times in the last 4 months and enjoyed each occasion. We have entertained clients with the excellent steaks and enjoyed the good value burger and chips, definitely a locally sourced 100% minced meat burger and fresh chips. Every establishment will have an off night or meal but Paul and Ange are very receptive to comments good and bad. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and the pub is enjoying a massve amount of support from the locals. They are trying very hard to make a sucess of a pub with a great location. We recommend you give it a try Ian & Trish Mackway

If this the the Red Lion in Brackley it isn't too bad. They have good steak in my opinion but not sure on the other stuff.

Someone has asked if I'm on commission and the answer is a definite NO. I have moved to this area and am trying to make the village a good venue for enthusiasts. I have no other connection with the pub.
The pub has now got new landlords and they have made the pub into a nice place to visit.
Just try it. You nevr know you might like it.

i think it makes a nice change for someone to try to organise something. i used to do that a lot until i got fed up with the negative comments etc etc. Nice to see some things never change!!?? i will definately give it a go - hopefully the westy will be back by then. Dave

Thanks Firesafetydave,
That's all I am doing is trying to organise something.
I guess there will always be somebody only too ready to make a negative comment though. It's the way of the world sadly.
Cheers,
Phil

Good on you Phil - a run could be organised over to Evenley for 9.30 am - an hour and a half there then back over to Sywell!
