Chuffing hell Lyme Park is hilly. Slowest parkrun I've done in a long time.

St Albans had a small band playing Xmas songs around the lake, was very good. Someone read a poem they had written about the parkrun just before the start, it was very long and the runners were starting to get agitated but it was very inspired.

Hmm, should have gone for an XL, the XXL is not as 'fitted' as I thought it would be.

Yeah. I find that so annoying when they are so hopeless in describing the fit, I'm gonna swap for an XL.
I would like that 100 now...but it's a year and half away! biggrin

Timekeeper today as I'm still recovering from a foot injury. Quite enjoyed it actually and rank it above bar code scanning as I don't come into contact with sweaty barcodes just fished out of someones pants smile

Physio has just given me the OK to start some light training, so hope to be back running properly soon..

Good stuff - one of my goals for next year is a 70% age grading (current PB puts me on 69%), so I can only dream of 77%!

417 turned up at Southwick today (and most in fancy dress), average is around 200 so quite a shock to the system! We had a 'funnel ducker' as well which messes the results up and required quite a bit of manual work to resolve.

I forgot my barcode, annoyingly.

New UK record attendance today 100,497 and 8009 vols smile

(And I thought it would be a quiet day with everyone doing panic shopping!)

For me, steady run at 24:23 but had a nice chat with one of the regulars who I know by sight but have never spoken to before.

Tomorrow we do it all again, same time same place, but we're the only 1 of the 4 in Brighton that's on so might be big numbers, who knows!
We particularly have a Christmas day run because a few years ago someone said to Danny Norman that if it wasn't for parkrun they wouldn't have spoken to anyone all day. I have no idea if that will apply to any of our runners but just in case, we do it - also it's bloody good fun!

Happy Christmas and good running to all.

A bit busy wasn't it! I was in a santa outfit which was a bit warm to say the least but managed a PB. Great fun and good to see so many take part.

Out of interest what is a tunnel ducker?

Someone who passes through the finish but ducks out of the tunnel before the person handing out tokens, they get a time recorded but thier position barcode gets handed to the person behind them. Then when the times are matched up against the positions (and therefore the person due to the position and personal barcode being scanned together), there are more times than finishers.

Thanks to the Braunstone park run as I ran a nice 18:18 yesterday. Also had coffee with an old friend afterwards and saw an old school friend as well. Wish there were more of these in the US.

345 for us today, a satisfying number!

Results almost perfect so easy to process in the gap between opening presents and doing lunch. Can start on the wine now!

Wanted to do today, but ankle wasn't up to it. Ah well, I'll do one and volunteer one next week.
