Anyone doing a NYD double? We're planning to drive down the M4 and knock Cardiff and Newport off the list.
Two good events! Cardiff's flat and very fast, whereas Newport's like cross-country - Newport might be on their winter course at the moment, so watch out for lapped runners/being lapped.I'll be at Brueton (Solihull) at 9:00 and Perry Hall (Birmingham) at 10:30.
Southwick NYE done, Southwick (9am) and Chippenham (10:30) today.
A Junior Male 11-14 came second at Southwick yesterday, a bit impressive! Age graded was around 80% I think.
Although, after my 12.8 mile hilly race on Tuesday I was nearly 3 minutes down on my PB yesterday, so it's leisurely recovery rather than anything else.

Found two parkruns separated by a 30 minute drive harder than a 10k, oddly enough, several minutes slower too when combined!
This is the third or fourth NYD Double I've done since starting Parkrun and agree with you wholeheartedly that it was the toughest by far. Not helped by the wet and windy conditions, I simply cooled down too much between my first and second and never refound the mojo again.Happy New Year everyone!
Just had the results through from the two today, guy first over the line by nearly 2 minutes (with a PB, 16mins) then came in first at the second parkrun by over a minute and a half (17 minutes, it's very traily and very muddy).
Immense. Can't ever imagine getting to that point but I guess it's possible if you really dedicate yourself to it.

Newport was indeed the three lap winter course (seems to come up short). It was VERY mucky given the rain. I was already regretting wearing my new trainers after they got dirty at Cardiff! I ended up using my gloves and hat to scrape off mud from my legs to keep the car a little cleaner.Gassing Station | Sports | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
