Out local one was around zero and, even with gloves on, I couldn't feel my fingers for the majority of the run. At the finish I couldnt grip the token either so they just placed it in my hand instead :P
Hurt like a bugger when they started warming up again though
If it is as cold this Saturday then will put my thicker jacket on so more heat gets pushed out to the extremities as the two tops I had on were only enough to just keep the core warm.

I ran in long trousers for the first time this winter, and got too warm. Back to shorts again.
Mind you I was glad I wasn't running the Farnborough Half on Sunday, it was definitely still sub zero at the start, a friend on one of the water stations in a shaded spot reckoned spilled water froze on the ground. The portaloos had been set up the day before and froze overnight so the flush wouldn't work on any of them

-4 on Saturday, loved it, much quicker than usual and I've finally found the point at which a thin long-sleeve top is beneficial over a t-shirt (I was beginning to wonder, as I have plenty of winter gear but have never worn it, I'm naturally very warm). Still shorts though, not sure what the tipping point for trousers will ever be. I only changed into a long sleeve top when I noted water I had poured on the ground at home just before I left had frozen within minutes.
Something that did make me chuckle as I've found myself doing a bit of 'parkrun stalking' myself, looking at results, comparing times, trying to 'beat' certain regulars etc. A guy started chatting to me and after I introduced myself he mentioned that I was getting much quicker over the past few months. Second time I've had that exact conversation, amazing when you think there are 250 runners on average (from a pool of probably 400 regulars) and I hover around 70-100th place, so very average and in no way stand out!

After a while you get used to the people who are around your finish time and keep an eye out for them - either coming to get you or you trying to get past them if the are known to be quicker but having a 'bad day'.
There is a junior at ours that is determined to beat me one of these days. For ages the gap was minutes but he has been putting a lot of effort in to achieve this and now its down to 30s or less. On Saturday he kept up with me for two laps or so before blowing up on the last hill due to the effort - I may also have speeded up a fraction in an attempt to wear him out
It makes me go quicker as well as I accept that he will get past me one day but I am not going to make it easy for him

Based on the results from last week, my age grade is was 67.36% and his was 67.93% so he beats me on that. For our PB time on the flat course that is sometimes used, mine goes up to 70.85% (18:59) and his to 69.66% (19:49).
For his age he is very good and is miles ahead of the next junior (and slightly above me) in the points table so is very consistent and turns up every week.
At the end of the day its all a bit of fun but it is only a matter to time before he gets past as he has a massive age advantage.
