Well done gents!
I had a buddy pace me around this morning with a target of 19:5X (PB is 19:18) to get some speed back into my legs with all this marathon training I'm undertaking. He only went and blasted us around in 19:36!
Shadowed some of the management team on how to process and edit the results, which I'll be let loose on next week - gulp!

I've just signed up for Parkrun, my nearest event is Havant/Staunton Park, but I'll probably run a mixture of Havant, Petersfield and Southsea.
I'm really looking forward getting into it, and getting fitter again. I stopped playing football about 3 years ago, since then I've been going to the gym intermittently and blaming my declining fitness on the kids!

In case you're waiting for results, a tweet from HQ says texts will have been sent, websites updated during the next hour, emails sent later.
They've done a major update of the results processing software that should handle future growth and today is the first time it's been used in anger so there have been some delays.

Fantastic conditions at Bushy Park yesterday. Nearly 1,100 runners too. I was hoping for a new PB, but in the end I was 7 seconds off my 18:57 PB.
Still trying to work out how to improve my time - my fastest km is the 1st one (3:32) by a long way, and my slowest is the 4th (3:58). I'm pretty good on the last 200m so clearly have plenty of energy left.
Should I try and go slower on the 1st km? My fear is that it's my adrenaline which gets me going at the beginning and if I reign it in, I will never make up the time later on.

I have always found the pacing aspect the hardest of a race or TT. Not just for running. Swimming in particular when doing 400m TT I can never decide whether the hold back at the beginning and go mad at the end or go out strong and limp home.Still trying to work out how to improve my time - my fastest km is the 1st one (3:32) by a long way, and my slowest is the 4th (3:58). I have found that you need to sacrifice some races and experiment. Try a negative split, equal split, anything etc. Try them a few times and see which one works for you. This is what PR is great for. You can, for free, try different races strategies each week and experiment multiple times without throwing away a race and the entry fee.

Agree with the above, free run every week is perfect for trying out strategies.I think I'd concentrate on not dropping the pace for the 4th k, if necessary sacrifice time from the first k so that you can hold the pace for the 4th and then push on over the last one.
I did my 9th different parkrun yesterday with a visit to Oxford. Third different parkrun in as many weeks after attending the inaugural runs at Pomphrey hill (Bristol) and Chipping Sodbury. Going to Cheltenham on the first Saturday of April, the. Chelmsford the week after as I'm there for a wedding (sadly missing the Chippenham inaugural but will do that at the start of May). Love tourism now.
15 seconds off my PB on saturday which is a bit annoying, but I started a bit down the pack and felt held up for a couple of minutes so I think I will need to start a bit nearer the front.
Although the sight of a young woman throwing up just as she passed the finishing line was a bit much on a saturday morning!

Do you start at the front? Last one I did I was at the back, and had to run through the 30 minuters.Next one...I'll be at the front with the 5 stone whippets.
Happy with todays result..
