About 21.49 ish today at Blackhill, reasonably happy with that as it puts me back to where i was about 5-6 months ago. Its way off my best of 21.05 but better than my last effort which was 23.15 ish.

Not many ran today which made it hard for me, runner in front was maybe 45 secs ahead and the ruiner behind about the same distance, really makes it hard when I am flagging as theres nobody to race against really.

New PB for me at Orpington - 21:28 - this longer distance training must be having an impact.

Was really pleased given the fact I did my longest ever run on Tuesday - 12 miles - so pleased I had it in my legs.

I died on my arse at about 3km on Monday nights run, and have been working away and not managed to get a run in since. Didn't feel great this morning so was expecting to do badly, but ended up shaving another 10 seconds off my PB (a pretty sedate 27:45 compared to most on here). Clearly not running and feeling crap is a winning formula so I'm wondering if that should be my strategy for the Yateley 10k on Saturday biggrin

Still got a way to go to move up a place on the PH championship wiki though.

All improvement is good.

Got a target time in mind for Yateley? What sort of course it it?

Joined the 100 Club this morning at my home event. Only 3 more years before the 250 Club now! Might ease off the gas slightly for that quest...

It's a 3 race road series. Managed 67 minutes while aiming for 70 on the first one so sub 65 is the plan for this one, although I've lost my pacer as the wife twisted her ankle the other week and isn't running at the moment frown Would be nice to get sub 60 on the third but I'm not going to able to get much distance training in due to working away a lot at the moment (get my excuses in earlier)

Knocked 20 seconds off my Fountains Abbey pb, but still managed to be 2 seconds slower than my all time pb from Dublin last week.

So close. wink

Getting there though. smile

Good running chaps.

Did the Plym Vally park run for the first time on Saturday, coming in at 22.30 which is 2 mins slower than my PB. My running hasn't been the best the past few weeks, and Plym Vally is a tricky course being that it's all off road and features a very steep hill. I also misjudged the distance and put a sprint on when I still had a lap of a big field to do. Great course though.

My goal is still getting my PB to sub 20, and if I can achieve it on the Plym Vally course I'll be ecstatic, but I'm still be happy if I can manage it on my regular Hove Park Run.
If I've not done it by the end of August, I've told myself I'll put my triathlon training to one side and focus solely on running for 2/3 weeks and try and crack it.

Hove Park is still not flat, definitely an undulating course but at least it's tarmac the whole way thumbup

Flat compared to PV! Have you tried Preston Park? I hear it's a PB course, I need to try it out in the near future. Hove is so convenient though, being (almost literally) on my door step

No, not done Preston Park. I've only done Hove Park once (Christmas Day!) as I have family in Brighton.

Your'e not kidding, take three months to get to a new PB of 23.20!

Getting there, slowly
Just to make you jealous my little lad took 2 1/2 minutes off his PB yesterday - down to 30:38.

I kept expecting him to slow down but he ran a 5:40 last km.
My stepson has now joined me on Parkruns, its more rewarding seeing him improve his times than it is mine.

He is down from 34mins to high 26's which he is chuffed with.

I ran a practice 5k last night and a new PB of 22.12

It's great seeing the kids get PBs. As I said the 5 year old has improved his a couple of times this year. At the moment he either flies or just gives up.

The 9 and 11 year old are stuck at just over 25 and 24 minutes respectively. I tried pacing the eldest one to a PB the other week but he just couldn't live with it.

If you can manage that time on your own then you can probably run quicker in a group.

Dumb question probably, what what time do people tend to arrive for these 9am starts?
I've no idea how long the admin and queuing takes + ~10mins to warm-up I presume.
cheers.

There is no admin or queuing before the race, so I just jog there and arrive at 855.

The only minor queuing is to scan your barcodes at the end.

Yep - no admin to go through before hand and minimal afterwards.

I simply walk there and then run. If you haven't one before then make sure you listen to the pre-run briefing where they will explain the course.

Well that was awful, tried hard today but ended up with my worst ever park run in 23.38 (well i have been slower once in fancy dress) some 2mins 30 off my best. It just wasn't happening for me today and in early stopped a few times.

Still our event was a year old today and the wife collected a trophy for female points winner, about 800 ahead of the next female. Ver proud of her and the commitment she has shown.

Good effort. Bloody hot today and I really don't like running in the heat, so surprised myself by managing about 8 or 9 seconds short of PB.
