I take out the insoles before I hose mine off ("fan" setting on hose head works really well), then leave them sat on top of the boiler for few days with some newspaper inside to absorb the worst of it, don't forget to change the newspaper though. My wife's got a pair of proper shoe drying inserts that seem to do a good job.

Edit: Adding a photo on the iPad turns it upside down. Great...
My mother's always e-mailing me upside down pictures and blaming the iPad, I just assumed it was her Double Olympic champion Kelly Holmes joined in a my local one yesterday... http://www.courier.co.uk/Dame-Kelly-Holmes-inspire...

Iwan Thomas is a regular at our local one. Nice guy and always give people encouragement on his way round.I was overdosing on parkrun at the weekend, ran Banstead Woods on Saturday morning - very nice route, a bit muddy in places but not too bad and the downhill is in the second half of each lap which is good for a quick finish.
Saturday afternoon course measuring for our new event (the 4th one in Brighton) to change the route slightly now we know where the new fence will go followed by Saturday evening head scratching to work out how to find another 200m!
Sunday morning Preston Park juniors followed by trial run for the new event which went without any problems, waiting now til Saturday week when we start for real, sweepstake is going on how many we get for the inaugural.
Meanwhile in the rest of the world over 150,000 runners and 10,000 volunteers this week - I think the previous record was around 130,000 runners.

Nice work! How did you get on? Are you new to running in general?
My second run I managed 26mins 30seconds (first was over 30). The first half of the run is uphill so it's rather tough and it was very cold and I seem to suffer from EIB (exercise asthma....). I only started running last November and had a two week break in Dec due to a bad cold/flu. I started with C2 5K. Have my first 10k on the first week of March.
So far, so good...

Finally joined the sub 20 club with a 19.57 at Hove Park! Super pleased, it was off the back of a stressful week work-wise, interrupted sleep every day and a general feeling of lethargy.
Nice work! I remember my first sub-20 very fondly, only because I had a string of missed attempts of only a few seconds, with the worst offender coming in at 20:00 exactly!More to come from you for sure if you weren't that rested and stressed out.
Bagged a new cheeky 5k PB by 5 seconds for 18:44 over at Cardiff Parkrun. So, so close to a 70% age grading!
My home event, Cannon Hill, are planning to roll out a new course this Saturday. I don't envy the directors - the course that they're running with will confuse the majority of runners, with left turns on the first lap, right turns on the second and so on... At least on paper, the new route does look a touch faster due to a very shallow downhill descent that's now longer.

Just about prepared for inaugural Bevendean Down (Brighton) tomorrow. Weather forecast has gone from raining all day to strong winds which will luckily be behind on the way up the hill, and good visibility - when it's clear you can see the Isle of Wight which is about 45 miles away.
All off road with 75m of elevation per lap. (2 laps) so don't come expecting sub 20 like at Hove Cos18

My home event rolled out yet another new course today (5th in 4 years I've been running there). Main reasons were to combat the ever increasing number of runners (700 to 750 is now frequent) and also faster runners lapping slower runners, with neither group willing to concede to the other.
Biggest shock was it ran much of the original course in reverse to really potentially confuse! All fears were allayed because I ran just 3 seconds shy of a new 5k PB that was set only a week ago on a fast and flat course - the changes brought the total elevation down, so consider me a convert!

Was told this morning that faster should give way to on coming slower runners.Biggest shock was it ran much of the original course in reverse to really potentially confuse! Do they not emphasise keep right/left to try and keep the two sides separated?
Not this week unfortunately and the path is clearly separated by cones which is easy enough to stick to. I don't think anyone should have to give way to anyone but that's what the run director said today.Yes, all that needs to be said is 'keep to the left hand side of the path'

A quick shout of 'keep right' soon gets them out of the way when you get near Yes, all that needs to be said is 'keep to the left hand side of the path'
I can't imagine how annoying it would be if the oncoming traffic got in the way of people coming in the other direction. The sharp end of the pack would not yield, there are PBs at stake
