My first parkrun in over a year and nearly two years since my last PB, yet I somehow managed to knock 5 seconds off my PB with a time of 18:28. Feels absolutely fantastic!
Please don't tell me you've only been running a couple of years!Well done. Reckon there's a quicker time in you?
Been working round the Yorkshire parkruns and had to update my map to add the new Dalby Forest run.
Having been struggling to get sub 23 for over a year to beat my 22:46pb I've been chipping away at my times and got 22:38 at Huddersfield a couple of weeks ago. 22:48 in Bournemouth over Easter then 22:27 at Dalby yesterday.

Thanks! I started parkrun just under 3 years ago and my first time was closer to 23 minutes. Over that period, I started running regularly - 1,000 miles in 2014 and 1,500 miles last year. My parkrun times went right down as I lost weight and got fitter, and big highlights were getting my first sub 20 minute parkrun, and then my first sub 19 minutes (three week in a row I got exactly 19 minutes and felt like I was never going to get any quicker!) Well done. Reckon there's a quicker time in you?
I don't do parkrun so often now as my children have other activities on a Saturday morning that clash, so I was really pleased to get another PB yesterday. It's damn hard though - that moment around 3km when you just feel like you really have to stop etc.
Amazing thing about parkrun is that everyone who gets that new PB is a winner, whether it's 16 minutes or 30 minutes. The person you're really racing against is yourself.

I'm doing Dalby next week, is it a trail shoes type run or are road trainers ok?Having been struggling to get sub 23 for over a year to beat my 22:46pb I've been chipping away at my times and got 22:38 at Huddersfield a couple of weeks ago. 22:48 in Bournemouth over Easter then 22:27 at Dalby yesterday.
Well did my first Parkrun on Saturday in a local town, lovely morning and around 60 people.
Clocked a 18.33 which I was really happy about, fasted PB before then was a 19.22. Could have possibly gone a bit quicker if I knew the route but not too fussed! 4th Overall (1st in age group) so not a bad first Parkrun!
Going to try go along once a month to use as a gauge as to my training throughout the year!!

First parkrun in a while for me this morning. A lovely sunny 3 mile run up to the start then a solid 17:00 to be 1st finisher. Felt weak but satisfied with the effort. I need to start some core and strength work and also some speed sessions. The 3 mile run home was a struggle but at least it is downhill nearly all the way
Edit: official time of 17:01

Well done. I can only dream of sub 20's but I beat my pb today by 1.5mins on a muddy, hilly course. Managed 24mins 30 secs.ewenm said:
Better than me - I was well outside my PB. Well done!
I had another 30 seconds in me but it was a mind over matter issue and I slowed down from km 3.5 to 4.5.....it would't have killed me to up the pace but it was just too hard! I need to get intervals into my runs but the physio told me to take it easy due to a weaker right knee/leg.I should be capable of sub 24 now on the flat which is not bad considering I started 7 months ago and about 100kg / 30% bf.
Dalby forest today for me, a 110 mile round trip no less.
Was wet and misty, but what a cracking route, muddy and a little slippy but nice that it's just one lap. Came in 9th in 20:22 which is much faster than I expected to be. Was going to go steady as in a trail series race tomorrow but I thought stuff it.

Parkrun currylast night with about 30 ambassadors and RD's at Luton cricket club, with Glen Turner, some of you may know him South African chap.
Back to Panshanger feeling grotty, did a fairly decent time of 24 mins considering, lady fell and broke her arm and the parkrun laptop wouldn't talk to a stopwatch, so we had an interesting morning.
