292 to win with plenty of time, should be an interesting finish.

Interesting note on Cricinfo that in the last 49 years at the MCG no team has successfully chased more than 200 to win a test.
200, wow. Fair do's that is some stat. Despite not knowing that the initial gut feel for me is that the Indians will come up 50 short.

How many x50? Looks like the curry munchers have been watching the saffers & have found God (so to speak). Collapso must be the superhero de jour Mumbai way. It really is like watching England on ESPN.

Who would have thought an Indian pace attack on Aussie soil would be ripping out the home side?

Interesting that the Saffer batting line up is being consistently torn to shreds over the course long format series aswell.
We weren't so much torn to shreds as stupidly generous. I think 1 of the 10 wickets we lost in the first innings was to a genuine good delivery. The rest were all fking Christmas presents. What SA lack is a mental toughness. I hope they find it soon.

You dont just gain mental toughness...ask an England supporter! The Saffers dont seem to be putting a long term gain plan together, just one player replacing another as they go along.

Well done to the Aussies looks like they battered India out of the match. What is this Pattinson(sp?) like, haven't seen him, looks like a bit of a find....

Terrible batting display by the Indians. Didn't even get close. Well played Australia.

Even worse from the Saffers today. We batted like fat pigs wallowing around in st. Proof, if any was needed, that the fans are not thought of by these overpaid cretins. And fk Prince. fk him repeatedly with a red hot poker.

being bowled out twice for under 200 by a pop-gun Sri Lankan attack on a batting paradise wicket, and showing no spine. Also, Prince ran Amla out - Amla, the only man to have batted with any degree of fluency for us, when he could have and should have sacrificed his wicket. Utterly despicable.

Ah yes, I knew the match situation, I thought you were referring to a wider malaise.

Suddenly Im looking forward to the next Saffers series a whole lot more smile

Incidentally, the Crim victory and the Bok choking has just gauranteed we stay at the top of the rankings tree irrespective of what happens in the rest of those series now smile

I dont see us losing to Pakistan in Dubai, so without too much bother, we should finish the summer top of the tree smile

If it's a wider malaise you're after, the appointment of Gary Kirsten is a minor catastrophe. We need someone who will be tough with this bunch of spoilt, selfish, sense-of-entitlement players. That's not a guy who's been teammates with most of them. In my book, Ray Jennings is a better option. He was coach and kicked out because he was too tough on the poor widdle players. In Kirsten they have a buddy, not a coach. It's wrong-headed.

Another catastrophe is the insistence of playing players who aren't cutting it. Prince, Boucher, Rudolph - all must go.

A longer term issue is that still, today (and despite what KP would have you believe), non-white players have to perform miracles to be selected consistently. Alviro Petersen and Lonwabo Tsotsobe to mind. Amla and Philander are the only 2 non-white players guaranteed selection, and that's because they've performed so brilliantly that any thought of dropping them is banished. Morne Morkel, as much as I like him, really needs to be dropped to sort out his no-ball issue. Rudolph needs dropping too, and so does Boucher.

A further long-term issue is that the inevitable replacement for Boucher is not being looked at seriously. We're going to be stung on this one, mark my words.

The Indians have put in another pathetic performance away from home and the Aussies should go 2 nil up now. And Ponting gets his first for god knows how long.

SA-SL looks like its heading for a high scoring draw. 6 wickets have fallen in 2 days.

Pup comes good.

So, the crim batting has rediscovered some Aussie grit and the bowling dept doesnt look threadbare. They might be planning on making a contest of the Ashes afterall chaps!

Tendulkar 50 up... he isn't really going to get a better opportunity to get #100 - this pitch is flat as a pancake.
