Doh!!!!

Well done skip on the ton, just hope that he and Bell can bat all day.

It's very very very dull cricket. At this rate, my office might be tidy for the first time in years.

200 up, we are motoring now.

More draws than John Wayne or an Oakland Furniture shop.

Three down at the end of the day. Wood has shown that he's not a nightwatchman. Cook on 168* Bell gifts his wicket when on 63.

If only I'd done some painting this morning, then I could have spent the day watching it dry.

Just watching on Sky and this is dull. Pakistan managed to rack up 523 in 151 overs at 3.46 an over. Eng are batting at 2.58 and over.

Lucky no crowds in as they would be bored to tears. Chef really sucking the life out of the game. Drawn written all over this.

I have tickets for the return test in edgbaston next years. Let's hope it's a lot more exciting.

The irony being that will feel more like a home game for Pakistan. Them and India get awesome support at Edgbaston.

2.65 runs an over

Mind you we have saved the follow on.

If we bat all day today at 3 an over, we will have a lead of 30 runs.

Times like this when you wish ball tampering was made legal.

If only there were some bounce in the pitch.

England have so far played the right way for a test match. If the team batting first puts on 500+ runs then they're never going to lose. It's just a case of not letting scoreboard pressure affect a run chase. Lovely opportunity for England to spend three days getting batting practice, but it's piss poor for any spectators.

Might pick up a bit with Root at the crease.

Chris Tavare is jizzing in his grave. Well he would be, if he was dead.

When Boyc's states that it's dull, you know it's properly dull. I think we should just bat through to the end. Can Chef and Root put on England's highest ever partnership?

If we can I agree. As stated if we don't get out we won't have much of a lead by the end of the day, may as well stay in and rack them up.

We where thinking the same when we booked the tickets. Plus we have 2 in our group with Indian parents so they are tempted to wear their Indian one day shirts on the day biggrin

In the circumstances a substantial effort. Would have been very English to fold up for 250 in the innings (as some on here were predicting)

Just a shame it is a little ahem one paced from Cook.

I suspect Chef is eyeing a mahoosive record breaking score here, he's not getting expansive in the slightest to push the game to any kind of result.

Hope so.

His own record is 294, highest English individual records go up to around 350 odd.

I think he's heading towards loads of records for English scores in Asia and ME etc.

Root out in remarkably, and frustratingly, similar style to those against Australia.

I think Hutton 364 is the highest for an English test batsman
