Going to be a fascinating tournament....Wales and France are surely favourites but with a lot of Ireland's big name players at the wrong end of their careers they have all to play for.
And here was my prediction.....seems like I thought Wales had a good chance of winning wink No mention of England....

If Scotland played half as well as Andy Nichol described they'd beat the All Blacks into the middle of next week.

Derek speaks sense for once. I think it is a very very open field this year. England, France, Ireland and Wales all have an equal chance of winning the thing with England the lesser of those equals as it were. There is no one dominant team, the French were almost as bad as England at the WC, the Welsh were the best team from us at the WC but have since been knackered by injuries and the Irish are without the talisman, are ever older up front and as ever usually flatter to deceive.

Everything to play for, should be a great Championship with Scotland looking to throw a few spanners in the works up in Edinb...especially for England!
Here is my post. Turned out to be rather a decent call.
Okay, here's my call for next year's 6 Nations- Either Wales, England, France, Ireland or Scotland.
hehe

I reckon between Wales, England and France for the title next year, Scotland probably edging out Italy because their wooden spoon decider will be in Edinburgh this year, and Ireland petitioning the IRB for the right to use Zimmer frames during play.

Talking of predictions how do we think Wales will get on vs Australia this summer and England V South Africa ? I think we already know how Ireland will do against the All Blacks....

I think if England come away losing 2-1 they'll quietly be pretty happy.

You'd think Wales would have to fancy their chances against the Aussies though I think they need Warburton to be fit to go toe to toe with Pocock. It will be very interesting to see how the Welsh backs do against their Aussie counterparts...I think Jamie Roberts had a quite Six Nations by his standards, not sure if that was down to him or what was asked of him. If Wales do well they can book their flights for The Lions.

Rather harsh. They have problems with lack of strength in depth Whilst the old stagers, real quality players, are fit enough to play and are likely to give a better account of themselves than the juveniles then why not.

The great Ireland side has passed. It was an honour to see them develop into one of the most magnificent rugby playing sides post professionalism.

However, I can't see any of them being around next year.

I think Wales v Australia series will be three very tight games, I'll go Australia 2-1. England might also take one test if they carry on improving, I'll say Saffers 2-1. New Zealand will be too much for Ireland, not really a criticism of Ireland, that would go for all 6 Nations teams, so New Zealand 3-0.

Ryan played quite well in POC's absence... (Not sure how old he is)

Sexton isn't too bad either for a young lad...

BOD is irreplaceable though smile

If Ireland can't replace ROG they're in trouble.......he's not in the same league as the other two...shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath! The first two are Lions captains.........

I've got a feeling that this will be a very close 6N, there's 4 teams that have a very good chance of winning it. Wales, France and Ireland have good squads and England won't be as bad as they were in the WC. However, being totally biased I'm going for:

Wales - Grandslam wink
Ireland
France
England
Scotland
Italy
Here is Disco. With the Grandslam for added measure.

Because they want him free to play the tour in south Africa in June. If he'd got the minimum ban he'd have missed it. It's a bloody farce....and I'm a saints fan

I'm tempted to use the word 'disgrace' but it seems a little tabloid.

Totally agree, it happened loads last season too, where players were getting a ban that was just long enough to ensure they were still free to play for England.

Either he's guilty and receives the 12 weeks or he's not. I'll be interested to see what the mitigation is for the reduced sentence

Clearly the IRB are struggling with the definition of "minimum".

I'd say it's got more to do with this as said by Graham Rowntree

"However, we are looking forward to him being available for the tour to South Africa."

wouldn't surprise me if he appeals it, got nothing to lose

Agreed. The bloody Blazers at Twickers will do anything to stop Lancaster being a success. They know they have lost the fight to get A Name in, that Lancaster has it, so now they are looking ahead to see how they can sabotage him. Perfect opportunity...make sure Hartley is available to be picked for England and can fk up even more often!

Apparently it's been reduced because he's been a good boy since he was found guilty of gouging! I suppose what we don't know is whether the finger was put in his mouth or his mouth found the finger.....that might "explain" it.
