Excellent. I will be there every day as I am on the commentary team now.

Stewards. I could never do the video commentary that requires spontaneity and creativity!

I like the laconic, formulaic rhythm of Stewards commentary. And the occasional hint of excitement if there is a close finish.

I'll be in the Floating Grandstand on Tuesday with my wife (who is more distinguished than I am in the sport).

I'll be in the floating stand on and off through Tuesday but I'm not on duty 'til after tea.

Hey Rowers -

I've seen this thread over the years but never really paid attention...

I've done 2000 loosely once a year for years with no real logic. This year I did it after a solid summers cycling (250-400km most weeks) aware power would be better than ever and not having smoked for a few years... I pushed and got a PB of 7:19 with almost zero upper body strength...

I enjoyed it and figured now the weather is changing i can do this on the way to or from work most days but sub 8 effort doesn't replace a 1 - 2 hr commute..

So I tried 10,000m - first effort 40:19 aiming for just off 5k pace.
... Next day 39:40.... progress

I'm going to try and do 10,000m theoretically every day of October but realistically life will get in the way and cycling is priority...

I'll update end of October on progress and see if I'm destroyed or fitter / faster on the bike which is realistically the target...
....... Cycling benchmark will be my local climb - Sheephouse lane - Rivington / Bolton current PB gained this weekend gone 11:50 - 50/1259 in Strava weight category.

Kinda posting this partly to keep me honest to myself and try to make sure I complete my random mission...

hi,

just getting back into rowing as a casual rower who would do a bit at the gym to supplement my triathlon training, I have recently purchased a concept 2 and been using that 5/6 times a week either doing the workout of the day or 10k as I want to build up to a half and then full marathon.

I forgot how much of a love hate relationship I have with this wonderful machine, can already feel the benefits after a couple of weeks use
