Williams needs to save it to stop it from becoming a damp squib however, as much as I like Williams its more a case also of anyone but Higgins.

Why are people calling Higgins a cheat, what did he do?

Nothing worse than cheating.

I remember playing a big match on golf, all square going down 18 and my opponent stuck his ball in the trees, with me on the fairway. I helped him look for his ball for a few minutes, then went to get ready for my own shot. All of a sudden, he shouts out that's hes found it, plays a shot with a clear path to the green and lands it 2 feet from the pin. Cheating bd. I knew he was cheating as the ball he hit into the trees was in my pocket hehe

That's a joke by the way, it didn't really happen smile

I'd like to see Williams win it from here, but my spidey senses are telling me he won't.

Kyren Wilson seems to be breezing through unnoticed at the moment:

Rd 1: 10-3 vs. Matthew Stevens
Rd 2: 13-5 vs. Jamie Jones
QF: 13-6 vs. Mark Allen

Ok you could argue Stevens and Jones aren't the strongest of competition, but Hawkins had looked in good form up to the quarter finals.

Wowsers - that's a lifetime ban I would have thought.

If he hadn't been such a big name, so close to the top of the sport, I think it would have been.

That's the other half of the scandal - the authorities turned as close to a blind eye as they thought they could get away with.

So we A) know he's bent, B) know the governing body know he's bent, and C) don't think he's been properly punished, and the money he wins could be won by someone more deserving.

Hence his unpopularity.

Yes he seems quite a humble bloke, wouldn't begrudge him a win if he can pull it off.

And about to be thrown out of Hong Kong for working in contravention to his VISA.

I remember seeing him with his Lotus Elise a year or two into his pro career and thinking how he had the world at his feet.
Funny the things you remember. I think I recall that too - probably from a wee BBC feature VT about him. Potentially orange it was.

The sting: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YesmwO6jLUA

Mark Williams laughs at Higgins Heckler: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6aFP1e5PtB8

Important to note that Higgins hasn’t been found guilty of match fixing as Stephen Lee was - Higgins got done for damaging the sport’s reputation.

But is that only because he didn't actually get as far as taking the money, only as far as agreeing to?
