Really enjoyed that. Not the outcome I was hoping for but a brilliant game all the same. Selby was out to frustrate Ronnie, slow the tempo down and he played it to perfection. Some of his safety was flawless; consider the number of times Ronnie was cueing from tight on the baulk cushion.

Selby playing the best snooker of his life.
Not sure I agree with that.

It was a weird final in terms of form and stuff - I don't think either played near their best but MS did exactly what I thought he would do - try and make it as tough as possible which RO commented upon.

Overall thought the final felt a bit flat... dunno...after most years I am disappointed it (the tournament) has finished whereas this year I wasn't that bothered.

On a seperate point 300k for the winner seemed like a huge amount but a quick check shows it has been 250k for the past few years so not as big a jump as I thought.

Congratulations to Selby, seems a genuine guy.

But hard to watch him play. Tactics spot on for the final.

Ali Carter has been diagnosed with lung cancer frown

I hope he responds well to treatment and makes a full recovery.

He's had a lot of hurdles to face during his career. He's suffered from Crohn's disease for years and it almost ended his career prematurely. And then he recovered from testicular cancer last year.

Yeah, read that this morning, he's had no luck with his health. Let's hope he pulls through.

Ronnie O'Sullivan - take a bow, that was a stunning way to finish a match.

Imagine what the other 2 chaps thought on the other table. It's on another plane. So psychological advantage to Ronnie already especially as some top seeds have gone out.

Switched it on at the start of frame 5. What a legend only had one thing on his mind and he achieved it! Feel sorry for the other bloke tho. Can't be nice to have your match turned into a exhibition or to loose 6-0. Agreed that he's the best in the world definitely the most entertaining.

I was there on Thursday, it was slightly good, he's my hero! He's got some balls celebrating after the last pink!

My cocky mate called the 147 after the first red!

Well he was down today and I was listening to the football and I was still assuming he would win, and he did. Not sure if that is good or bad, but well done.

In the deciding frame, it got a bit scrappy, then Ron went for a MEGA risky long red, and of course potted it, cannoning the black. He then cleaned up with a 90 odd (IIRC) break.

Nonsense to have the balls to go for the pot, even more nonsense to pot it, and get position on the black (a wee bit fortunate) but to finish out the match from it was different gravy.
