And now it's as if it never happened. The snooker authorities, ex-players, the bbc team etc still fawn over Higgins as if he's the second coming of Christ.

Anyway, he's out smile. Well done Mark Davis.
The powers-that-be had almost as much to lose in the whole affair as Higgins did.

The footage was utterly damning, and if they'd rejected his ridiculous excuse, they'd have had to admit that cheating was so very close to the heart (and the top) of the game.

Now they can still say 'there are no cheats in snooker'. However risible that claim might be.

As an aside, I'd quite like to watch a match when two first class players have each, unbeknownst to the other, agreed to throw it.

Watching them each miss increasingly easy shots and get more and more desperate to lose, yet have to pretend to be gutted at their terrible play would be hilarious.

And after that snooker would be dead. Which wouldn't be so hilarious.

Poomjaeng versus Maguire is proving fun to watch hehe
Maquire is such a miserable arse--the Thai player is the crowd's favourite without a doubt.

I love watching the snooker, over the moon that cheating Higgins is out. Fabulous for the sport. I didnt really warm to him before the scandal. Now I just cant stand to watch him without thinking he is throwing games.

Although Poomjaeng is a legend already.

Glad to see him out, as you said, he's a disgrace----it's only the BBC commentators who seem to think he is a god.

Watching the Robertson game and I just learned a new rule, if it's a touching ball with a red you can just roll the cue ball away and hit nothing, but if it's a touching ball with a colour (and you're playing a colour) you can nominate another colour and pot it.

I always assumed you were hitting the touching colour first (as with the red)!
Them's the rules smile

You can also nominate the colour you're touching and roll away without hitting anything else or hit any other ball providing you don't pot it.

That's how we play anyway.

Presumably it's not allowed to move at all?
I didn't think I was very clear smile

After potting a red if the cue ball is touching a colour, you can nominate that colour and play away from it (it can't move, otherwise that's a push shot) and hit anything you like (or nothing) - it doesn't matter, you've already hit your nominated colour. As always, the only ball you could legitimately pot would be the nominated colour.

Ronnie's back playing today, will be interesting to see if he's kept his focus despite not playing for a week.

I am starting to find Judd quite frustrating to watch at times, there have been a few shots in this match where he'd have been far better off reigning it in a bit but he insisted on belting it.
