Higgins is a dirty cheating .

Wanted McGill to do well, likewise McManus but if Carter wins I can't complain. Seems a nice guy and beat cancer twice, fair play to him, even if he does have the tt Ebdon in his corner. Fo McManus to be back playing at this level having disappeared for some years and at his age is impressive.

Can't stand most of the commentators, they all want to suck off Trump for some reason. Naughty snooker my arse. Parrot is the best of a bad bunch.

Disappointed Poomjang never made it. Glad the boring robot Aussie is out. A Ronnie win please.

Is this Higgins cheating thing something that happened years ago or something more recent that's passed me by?

He was filmed by an undercover NOTW journalist offering to throw matches for money. Then when caught he said that he only said what he said because he thought the undercover journalist was part of the Russian mafia.

Ended up getting a slapped wrist for it all and was welcomed back with open arms by the snooker establishment.

Good to see Alan McManus back on form after a few years in the doldrums.
yes

Poor Ali has been struggling this morning but credit to McManus for taking his chances - he also seems to be playing a bit more positive than he used to do in his younger days.

Would like to see Fu take the title, but don't realistically think he can.

What the hell happened to him in the Masters, it was as though he wasn't well.
He had the flu then, and played very bad indeed.

Looks like the days of seeing the same faces sat at the same places at the front rows (a rather chubby guy, a very well-dressed lady, an army-veteran and a lot of chavs wearing football jerseys spring to mind) year in year out are numbered:

Thanks for that, they never said on TV what was wrong with him, possibly I don't think they knew at the time.

Yes, a slapped wrist and now praised day in day out by the commentators (his mates ?) whenever he appears on the TV.

Easily leaned on in that sting, but still one of the best to ever play the game, can't ignore his talent.

Dont make excuses for him.

Agree, he is a great player, but why get involved with gangsters?

Sorry for Sam Baird last night, did well against Selby but just didn't have the final push to get himself over the line.

Same here, so many different tournaments everywhere, it got to saturation point, so left and returned to find it novel and interesting, like the old days.
