Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy!! Have to giggle dont you? Anderson pouching them at slip after his have been bungled is almost like saying "Do I have to do *everything* round here?"

Oi Fordyce, stop reading ph!

Tom Fordyce, BBC Sport's Chief Sports Writer

"Anderson fuming after the edge from Chander-wall fizzes between Swann at second slip and Bres at third. Ball travelling at pace but, by England's standards, that was snaggable. Jimmy then shows them how it's done by hanging on to Powell's edge. Avoids temptation to shout, 'SEE?' at errant team-mates."

Kinda surprising WI decided to bat first considering the inexperience and fragility of their top order. Wouldn't it have been better to bowl and wait for the pitch to flatten down a little? I missed the pitch review, but isn't that the usual Trent Bridge pitch evolution?

Yeah I hear ya, but 1st day pitches always the liveliest in terms of pace and deviation from the pitch tho, not exactly what their top order are good at coping with.

On a good pitch you bat first it can only deteriorate and they don't do much of that over here either. Really good quality from Jimmy, but some of this batting is poor though. Over to you Chanders..... Bring on the Saffers that will be a different kettle of fish.

Hmm, yeah. I guess we're just better in every department and it shows.

Nice for a change!

Got ticket for first 2 days of 1st Test against SA. Can't wait! smile

Here's hoping.
2 superb bowling attacks to watch whoever's in the field. Very much looking forward to seeing Philander, 51 wickets in 7 test and in all probability he'll love English pitches.

Yep, as discussed earlier in the thread I think. I want a look at The Philanderer.

And we have given him some practice in the County Championship this spring. frown

Anyway, 2 more down. Swanny got Shiv with a cracking ball. Bresnan in on the act with Ramdin.

140/6.

Missed both...grrr. Cracking ball to remove The Limpet.

Watched some of the SA v NZ series over the winter, Philander took them apart, great control, line, length. He'd almost make the England bowling line-up!! biggrin

Good fightback by the WIndies in the final session, however we can take heart that batting conditions are close to perfect and it'll be our turn soon enough.

KP entertains from one end

Strauss notches another ton, life is easier without a leg spinner to face ...

decent day, draw looks favourite at the moment, but then KP scores so quickly I guess we might get four maybe five sessions to bowl them out in
