What a great finish to a great tour. It's really good to see such a solid team with no obvious primadonnas unwilling to work for the others.

Hopefully the Brits involved can do the same next week too.

Is the (approx) route for LeTour2013 announced in October? Looking to book a week in the Alps/Annecy area for summer next year and hope to coincide it with a day's spectating.

January, I think.

It starts in Corsica though, apparently.

I think I heard them talking about the first two or three stages on Corsica, also Mont Ventoux was mentioned, think they plan for a real climbers race next year maybe ?

Just a mention that I think the ITV4 commentary team deserve a pat on the back for their coverage. Having dutifully reported on the race to presumably tiny audiences over the past twenty-odd years, they suddenly found themselves on prime-time TV, having to explain the very basics to new viewers while keeping the die hard fans informed.

I think they did an excellent job.

As a part-time viewer over the years, I really enjoyed this year's commentary.

The only negative (and it's not just this year) is Imlach's completely bored competition descriptions!

Couldn’t agree more!
They have a great team, Ned Boulting in particular deserves special praise in my opinion, for the way he has steadily improved over the years. Have a read of his book – “How I won the yellow jumper” for an insight into how far he has come since those early days.

Conversely, I think Imlach's bone-dry delivery is one of my favourite things about the coverage.

His book is pretty good too.

Agreed - he throws in some great sarcasm usually.

Read that a few months ago. Interesting and amusing, I thought...

Me too. Sometimes I have to do a double-take at what he says because
he barely changes his facial expression when he delivers them.

Me too. I'm hoping the sudden increase in interest will mean they shift the whole team lock, stock & barrel to the Vuelta coverage (assuming they still have it this year).

Considering we two Brits on the podium there too last year, the commentary team didn't half do its best to make the whole event seem as dull as possible, by way of butchering the Spanish language at every possible opportunity. OK, you can't expect them to get the accent word perfect on everything, but you'd think they could at least make the effort to ask some random Spaniard how to pronounce "Vuelta a España"! irked

Based on comments on here from people who have both, I think I really want the ITV4 TDF team doing the Vuelta! hehe
