Roache has tipped Wiggins over Evans in this mornings' metro - I think I'll have to buy roaches' autobiog - the snippets i've read already have been quite emotional...

S10GTA said: Jimbo. said: They've throw their weight behind Wiggins, which suggests that Cav will bail before the end to concentrate on the Olympics. Not a chance. He will want to defend his jersey. He has Bernard to help him in the mountains, and he is such a weapon in the sprints he can join any other train if needs be. Read an interview with Cavendish yesterday...said he is 4kg lighter than he has been before so he's not got the out and out speed but has more endurance. Certainly if you read it he sounds like he is behind Wiggins going for Yellow rather than him defending his green http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/olympics/18600273

TdF is a guilty pleasure. I do cycle but I don´t follow the other races except the Olympic sprints and the odd other event. TdF is different. The last couple of years when we have been on hols, it has been on Eurosport and TJQ and I have enjoyed a couple of hours some evenings of the race to the line whilst we are getting ready for dinner. How can 2 hours of cycling be interesting? I don´t know, but it is.

I follow nothing in cycling - no interest whatsoever. Until July each year! Been following on TV for 23 years now - since I first saw it in the flesh in 1989, a most spectacular year! I predict a fantastic race this year, with at least one Brit putting us on the map and Sky finishing well. Anyone else doing http://www.halfordstdfgame.co.uk/default.aspx ? We should have a PH league!!!

Umm, thanks for that insight, but it's not my opinion. If you read the interview it's what he said. But I'm sure you know more than the man himself. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/othersports/cycli...

I watched an interview with him, and this seemed to come across from his answers and his body language too. He appeared much more mature mentally as well - my feeling was that this bodes extremely well as he becomes more of an all rounder - but again, other people may know best.

Go Wiggo!
Missed what happened to Tony Martin, so I'll be picking up at the Highlights.
