That's not quite what he said. Some (English) jouro asked him back in 2009, with a cheeky grin, if he'd be supporting Scotland in the world cup (when, as everyone knows, Scotland didn't qualify). Andy replied in a jocular fashion that he'd be supporting ABE. Most Scots support ABE anyway.

What was all that looking up to the sky business when he won. Christ, don't tell me he's found god? Never liked him before, but if he's joined the god squad that'll be the tin hat on it!!

She was with him before his fame and she temporarily split with him when he became a name.
He's grown up a bit over the yrs, on denying he's serious but so what. Sampras was serious

So do a lot of English because they see him as British. Personally, I can't stand the miserable t t.

So many people base their opinions of him on how he speaks rather than what he says He says exactly what the others say in interviews. As for the football comment, I thought football fans liked "banter".

Firstly, fair enough if thats what he thinks, f meant as banter or even if he is serious - lots of others think the same Anyhow, it sounds like it was blown out of proportion - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqQsHBwkDgQThat aside, he doesnt look very friendly.

If he wins on Sunday then he'll be "our Andy" and "a proud British winner". Lose and he'll be that "Scotch tosser"

You're going to judge a guy based on a comment he made to a journalist? As a throwaway comment, I actually think you'd be hard pressed to find a Scot who hasn't uttered an "anyone but England" expression at some point in their lives. Personally, I like the fact that the guy's as dull as paint drying in interviews and I liked the way that he would beat himself up & get frustrated on court, even though it was annoying and counter productive. I prefer that infinitely to the clean shaven, bleached teeth media-savvy sportsmen of today, who tell you exactly what you're supposed to hear.

Except that Federer manages to do the business and be a good guy, showing that it's perfectly possible to do both. Surely for the 20 mill Murray's been given by the public, either directly through ticket sales or indirectly through sponsorship, he could give a bit more back to the public. Or in fact simply show us a little more of the great personality that we hear about and would actually love to see, but which he currently keeps to himself.

You expect too much.
He's good at tennis, this does not mean he should have a particular personality. He is himself and that should be celebrated.
