Don't blame the riders,it's the lenient penalties that were dished out and even letting fking convicted dopers back into the Olympics to win golds and then to run the teams!
Do you really expect the sport to be clean? THEN or NOW?
So why are the team owners during LA for $100m - surely USADA should be during the team owners as they were complicit the buck stops with the commander in chief - who is US postal service CEO at the time?Do you really expect the sport to be clean? THEN or NOW?
Why didn't Dr Ferrari get struck off and large fines... Gets off and a user of his output and guidance gets his ahole ripped apart hen has his balls cut off to boot.

Some sports can clean up - to some extent at least. Look at the women's athletics world records. Most are still from the 80s and early 90s. Clearly the current women are not doing something that the previous women were.Do you really expect the sport to be clean? THEN or NOW?

The word scapegoat springs to mind! Why didn't Dr Ferrari get struck off and large fines... Gets off and a user of his output and guidance gets his ahole ripped apart hen has his balls cut off to boot.
Why hasn't every rider that has tested positive been stripped of victories and chase for prize money?
The point I was trying to make was if they had been banning riders for life for doping then sooner rather than later the penny would have dropped!

Given LA is really on the ropes currently why doesn't he start going down this route? All the other riders in the 2000,1990's,1980's etc all those who tested +I've and have won need restful stripped and sued for prize money and compensation for muddying the team and sports name? Why hasn't every rider that has tested positive been stripped of victories and chase for prize money?

LA is a cheat and not a very nice person (goes beyond determined - though it certainly happens in business all the time and with friendships or within families).
USADA only needs to punish for the cheating the rest it outside of their control.

I think lance is going down the redemption route because otherwise surely he would be naming every name and doing a proper scorched earth policy on cycling to prove that it isn't/wasn't just him, potentially in the eyes of the public if he didn't well it might well rehabilitate him and give him some earning potential, although isn't he back on the livestrong board now and I'm sure they'll pay him considering he provided the original funding to start it!
I've just watched the BBC documentary from a few weeks ago. I'd already seen the C4 one, but I'm even more nuts about Betsy Andreu now. Though I didn't quite get the bit about owning up to stuff, but stopping short in one respect where she was involved. It was as if she was the one person he couldn't quite give in to.

I think they were very close when they were young and Lance seems to have a problem with strong Women in his life.to be fair she frightened the st out of me too.In a perverse way Lance has shown some loyalty to those around him in this mess and so far he has taken most of the st, I wonder when this will change.
When you see the physiques, speed and capacity for control and touch of footballers in Spain it screams juiced to frig too. Oh, and the fact that much of the eveidence to that effect was suppressed in the Puerto and Fuentes investigations. I dare say that compared to other sports, cycling is possibly amongst the cleanest of sports nowadays.

Its why I get defensive about cycling because I do believe as a sport they try harder than other sports to keep up and catch the cheats.Look at Athletics for instance and in particular Woman's athletics and check out some of the records they have stood for a very long time.

Strong rumours (pardon the pun) of a big investigation to come very soon into Rugby and the size, speed, strength of the players. I appreciate there are rugby threads but felt this was more apt.

The changes in physique in rugby league/union players in the last 10 years or so has been remarkable. 15-16 stone blokes, some of them with single digit body fat measurements - wouldn't look out of place in a bodybuilding contest. Does anyone know how stringent the drug testing regime is? Particularly off season.

Given the current climate around head injuries, the law suits in the US with the NFL boys, then I think a drugs context is lower down the rugby priority list than protecting against concussion. This is where rugby will feel some spotlight attention over the next few years.
The real issue with the NFL and the NHL and TBIs is down to the helmets ironically. And they start wearing them from a very early age. Obviously concussions and TBIs occur in rugby but they're less of a concern than people breaking their backs/necks in collapsing scrums. And if you're up against a guy who's pumped full of HGH and testosterone then your odds of a broken spine go up considerably - and this for me is the difference between cheating in MMA/Boxing/Rugby than say cycling and running, you actually put other peoples lives on the line by doping and not just your own.The WADA website has all the drugs tests undertaken, in and out of competition by year. Rugby I believe has the highest percentage of positive tests though I gather a lot of it is supplements and things that are more akin to bodubuilding, I guess there is a naivety about things like that in some sports, there are all sorts of things available off the shelf in Holland and Barratt etc so some people assume they are safe/legal and take them without thinking.
