Probably Lewis because he's high profile, but there is a campaign among runners to get it for Jo Pavey.

Rory all the way in my eyes cant see any other winner to be honest.I know its a car site and there will be a lot of bias here but do people not forget how much a difference the car makes ? put Hamilton in the caterham car and he would be nowhere its a whole team effort in F1 .Rory has dominated this year gone to world no1 as much as Hamiltons win was good I just think Rory's achievements are a grade or 2 above

There is also a campaign among the horsey lot to vote for Dujardin.

Both Hamilton and Mcilroy deserve to win this year. Both have dominated major global sports and won globally recognised championships. It's a shame one has to miss out.

Realistically, Hamilton only beat one guy, and then only by a moderate amount. He's world champion in a sport only 2 people played this year.

Jo Pavey gets my vote for her inspiration performance at the European Championship.

If anything, her performance in splitting the Kenyans at the Commonwealth games was even better.

I'd probably say that Rory Mcllroy has an equally high profile as Hamilton. Both are global sport stars and I'm a big fan of the pair of them.

Button never won it in his championship winning year which was a far more competitive year (second half of the season at least) and I think he beats Lewis hands down in the personality stakes if maybe not as high profile a figure.

Women have a very slim chance of winning spoty. They would have to be an Olympic winner when male Brits have achieved very little the same year.

I can't see a woman beating a male F1 world champion or successful golfer. It's not about merit but the kind of people who watch and vote each year.

Can't see it. He makes it so easy for people to hate him. Turning up on the red carpet with his dog for example.

I missed the blurb. Why is Gareth Bale nominated?

My vote goes for Charlotte Dujardin - incredible repeated domination in a sport at such new levels, superb.
