Surely Froome now? I'm a big swimming fan but Froome's achievements this year far outshine Peaty's phenomenal successes.

However the dimwit British public will probably vote for Joshua.
froome wont win. most know exactly whats going on with him...
Can you expand on that?

It must be that time again,

I would like to see Froome win it,

The BBC will probably pick a one legged racial minority transsexual

Winning le tour AND la Vuelta is unequalled not that it will count for much it's a popularity contest, although nice to see Johnny Tea get a well deserved mention.

What Chris Froome has done i.e tour Grand tours in one season is truly special I suspect it'll be. A very long time indeed before anyone or any nationality does it again leave alone a Brit

The problem is most people don’t think he’s British, people think he’s from somewhere in Africa and lives in Monaco dodging british tax after being a product of GB cycling. Plus because it’s cycling, people think he’s probably cheating anyway.

He could win every tour and every classic in one year and he will be unlikely to ever win SPOTY. Which I think is a shame but I’m not surprised and can have some sympathy with the reasons.

Sadly, for me, it's this.

The sport's integrity will take a generation to restore, and any honest winners in the meantime will be punished for the crimes of their colleagues/competitors.

Not the issue, is it.

The issue is that the drugs asthematics are allowed to take appear to give a performance advantage (so everyone is getting diagnosed with asthema, whether they've got it or not) and he appears to have had double the allowed amount.

Salbutamol at twice the therapeutic dose? Hard not to draw the obvious conclusion

Looking at this lot, after Froomes smear I reckon Hamilton will walk it.

I don't know who any of this lot are

The Panel comprised 12 members this year, with representatives from BBC Sport, BBC Radio 5 live, the UK broadcasting industry, UK-wide newspapers and UK sports bodies (in alphabetical order): Maggie Alphonsi, Philip Bernie, Darren Campbell, Danny Crates, Carl Doran, Katherine Grainger, Dominic Hart, Colin Murray, Eleanor Oldroyd, Alyson Rudd, Barbara Slater and Laura Williamson.

But clearly they know who the top sports people in the UK are ??

It used to be a bunch of sports reporters all giving their top 12, and the top 12 of the combined list would be who the public voted for.
After last year(?) when the top 12 turned out to be an all male list they needed a way of engineering the list a bit, hence the panel.

That's not the issue, because nothing you've written there has any basis in fact.
