Based on what? I've always felt he comes across as one of the most down-to-earth, least 'up himself' sportsmen around...

Should be Jess Ennis
Absolute horse st. He is a personality. That is more than most of the shortlist.

I want Bradley to win, and betfair has him quite far ahead. I have a feeling Jess will get there though.

I don't agree. I just thought that was him playing to his fans.

It is highly unlikely to happen, but Zanardi for overseas sports personality would be a good one smile

Yes, indeed! If he wasn't pissed, he's a cock. Amazing achievements though.

Jessica will win.

He's in with a good shout, I think.

That would be a great call, but how can it be anyone other than Bolt?

He won it in 2008 and 2009! It's someone else's turn!

Because he did it with legs, whereas Zanardi has gone from one sport, to another after a hideous incident. Zanardi would be a worthy winner.

Why do you say he was a cock?

He's a guy with a personality not a PR/Media moulded type of person. Better than some dull as dishwater "perfect" athlete.

Great to see the Brownlees there. They should be in the shortlist in the future.

Zanardi should win the triumph over adversity Helen Rollason award.

He nearly died, fought back, is an awesome guy.

Why the hate for Wiggins? I hope he wins, he merits it & I like a sportsman who takes a drink now & then.
