What a bunch of spineless fking useless wkers/ "Ooh difficult decision, should we do the right thing, nah let someone else take the blame. Right Lunch anyone?" fking useless.

IAAF have already banned them anyway so they are out of the athletics anyway. FINA are just as spinless as the IOC so they will probably be allowed to swim

Another aspect of athletics I don't like is that you are disqualified for ONE FALSE START!!

You train for years, prepare, travel and all the world is watching.

Then, you go an instant before allowed and you are out.

It just feels very harsh to me.
Yes it is stupid. The reason behind it was to supposedly spead it all up for TV audiences but it doesn't. False starts, generally (Rooney excepting) occur in the 100/200m which are the two races people will wait for anyway.

The other stupid rule diamond league have added is with the field events you now have 3 jumps and only the top 6 go through to get 6 jumps. Again to speed it up for TV, which is utter bks as field events hardly get any TV coverage anyway. These are always trumped by the track events.

Anyone worked out how they are going to watch the main events yet? Looks like timing wise the big event finals are going to be on at 1 or 2 in the morning. I am off for those two weeks but looking after the kids. Neither get up early but not sure I can do that many late nights on the trot! Too old.

Thinking I may stay up for the really important ones and the other might record and then watch the following evening. Just have to avoid social media and the news all day,

Exactly, spineless and corrupt IOC shaming sport once again.

I thought after the FIFA shambles, the IOC would take this as a sign that it would be great time to hit reset and send out a message of strong leadership, but they are obviously still in the pocket of certain people and they don't care enough about their responsibility to step up.

A few years ago I was naive enough to think that this wouldn't happen. That large organisations wouldn't be that corrupt, and I would think anyone suggesting that people took bribes and did things like wore tin hats. But I am not surprised at all and I do believe that members of the IOC have either been bribed or extorted (pic of them being whipped by ladies of the night) by the Russian government.

Power corrupts, twas always thus.

Its not all doom and gloom.... They have barred a number of Russians from swimming (especially Efimova.... who has been caught twice now.)

I was also looking into this recently and yeah, the events I'm most interested in will strike in the early hours. The only events that will actually be enhanced by the time difference for me will be the marathons, where the 4 hour difference means I'll have finished my Sunday long runs and will be able to put my feet up and enjoy the races.

Good that Efimova is gone, a double cheat should never be allowed back

What's the betting that the UCI don't have the balls to ban a single cyclist?

Annoyingly the swimming evening events start at 10pm Brazil time which I think is 2am UK time so that can go on until 5 in the morning for us!
I think it's that late because of the US TV schedules...

Yes it seems like a lot of it is centered around prime time in the US.

I am going to stay up late for a couple and record the rest

No but he is an utter tt so I care not what he thinks. Why does he do a goatse sign to the camera when he is getting ready to race. Bolt has the lightning bolt, he has the ahole stretch. Sums him up really.
