Welcome to the Ryder Cup in America. Although - you're not confusing the cheers for Luke Donald as boos are you? Luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuke!

Suprised how they are allowed to change the width of the fairways, 1st and 2nd cuts widened etc to suit their strengths? How is that sportsmanship?
Well, somebody has to set-up the course. It's too important to leave to the greenkeeper, and the two captains would never agree if it were done by negotiation. It seems fair enough to me.

One alternative would be to allow the captains alternate holes or alternate nines to set-up, but then you'd have an unsettled and inconsistent course, wouldn't be cohesive.

Yeah the Luke chants sound like Boo's but they are saying him name. People were confused with this a few months back.

It is so boorish.
Exactly, since when did golf become a sport for Boorish Morons?
I'm ready to switch the sound off tbh, I don't want to hear these yobs.

Have a look at youtube for videos of the Americans (players and fans) at Brookline in 1999. That Was the moment that moved it from gentlemanly respect into the circus we have today. It is getting better, a bit, but the yahoos still rool. Sad.

It's the cheering of missed putts and bad shots that is grating on me.

Why are there so many adverts on Sky Sports, is it because the Yanks are providing the feed and they like them?

I think its because the Ryder Cup is an expensive property for Sky to buy, but only lasts 3 days, so they have to cram the ads in.

You have to say though that with a game like golf they don't interupt the flow too much.

The whoopin' an' a hollerin' at every shot is quite off-putting. One wonders where they get their strange habbits from?
