Targeting Rogers backhand, and he's hitting short on both sides compare to Novak. Not much out of the service box on the ground strokes from Fed.
Serve and volley his only option...

Djokovic showing why he will never be revered like attacking number 1's. So many chances for him to take the ball down the line but he just wants to play the percentage and keep hitting it cross to Feds backhand to force the error rather than even attempt the winner.

edit - I think we typed at the same time Robbo66.

That backhand is devastating. Federer can't live with the backhand to backhand exchanges

Hopefully someone will hatch a plan to beat this guy, I've got a suspicion when he does start losing it's not going to be pretty and many tantrums will be thrown.

You maybe right but from what I see/recall he wasn't as effective in 12/13. His game wasn't as watertight, he definitely wasn't serving as well and therefore his confidence probably wasn't as concrete. It would be nice for someone to beat him playing at his best because it would mean whoever that other player is has to play to a level that we haven't really seen often enough this year (apart from the RG final).

Hopefully a more competitive season next year with some new faces holding up the winners trophies. Can only be good for the game.

Changing the subject, anyone here heading to Ghent for the Davis Cup final on Friday - Sunday?

He's just more consistent than anyone else. Simple.
Like playing a pusher at the club, frustration boils over and you start beating yourself.

Added to this is his backhand which has found some extra zip, and a superb pin point serve, from which he rarlely serves and volleys as it does not have the pace to generate a pushed return. Doesn't need to, it's just pin point.

Everyone he plays is less consistent generally, or has a weakness that can be targeted. I struggle, as Fed did tonight, to find a weakness anywhere in his game.

Pick any other Tour player, and you could hatch a plan....this guy...impossible.

I have two tickets for the final on Saturday. Category two, so decent seats.

Would like face value, which is £40 each.

South Africa are doing really well in this match. Top stuff.

Scotland up next.

Can't see 'GB' losing from here.

Sorry to be the one to say this but did Edmund's team not entertain the possibility of 5-set matches and train him for them?

To be fair, he is ranked around 100 - he did well to be 2-0 up. Shame he couldn't close it out.

That must be a fitness issue surely? If he's winning two sets to love and loses 3-2?
