Joker is out. Andy has got to fancy his chances now.
You're right, great news for Murray! However, I don't really get what's happened to Djokovic in the last six months; by his lofty standards he seems to have lost the plot since winning the French Open and I'm not sure why? Boris Becker seemed to imply that part of the reason he'd left Djokovic's team was that Novak's intensity and commitment in training and practice sessions had dropped and his performances in tournaments seem to reflect that - one or two decent results but generally well down on the standard he's set over the last two or three years. Perhaps he's just mentally a bit jaded - staying at the top for as long as he has must take a toll - but whatever the reason opportunity certainly knocks for Murray and he's playing well enough to take advantage; 2017 could be a great year for him IMO!

Just waiting for the person who called him Druggavic (I think it was that) to pop back in and suggest a reason! However, I don't really get what's happened to Djokovic in the last six months; by his lofty standards he seems to have lost the plot since winning the French Open and I'm not sure why? Probably it's losing focus due to winning a huge amount, or might just be his body is worn out after so much tennis over the last number of years. Not in the same injury level as Nadal, but just general wear and tear which must be high with his style of play/ having so many games to play.

I think like some others have said it's just the level he was playing previously was so ridiculously high that it's not sustainable. He was pretty much untouchable, the Masters 1000 record is incredible and winning percentage against top 10 etc is unbelievable. Can't even imagine the amount of dedication + application it takes to dominate in that way. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Djokovic just wants to win a bit easier without pushing his body and mind to extremes all the time.
Murrays' day will come and then likely to finally be a new-ish generation.

SAM looking good, peaking nicely and has got the measure of the courts, but I've just watched the highlights of Fed destroying Berdych. He is absolutely mullering the ball and taking it incredibly early. Plus he's clearly used his time off well to build up his fitness, lots of volleying in his game now and he has developed a lovely touch on both them and his drop shots.

SAM ?Sorry, must get used to the acronyms.
I hope it's one of the new guys. From what I've seen Dimitrov is on fire right now, Raonic has been super effective, Nadal played well but that long match must have taken it out of him and while Stan is in the tournament he can beat anyone. Federer might make it if the matches stay short but I just don't think he's got the legs but then again without Djokovic/Murray there's not really any grinders left which could make the match go 5 hours.
Didn't see the Federer match today but he was superb vs Berdych. Was hitting the ball so cleanly esp on his backhand side. Certainly wasn't playing like a 35 year old who had just come back from a long injury lay off.
Would be quite a story if Federer (or even Nadal) lifts the trophy next Sunday.
