Have you got a very slow internet stream? wink

ETA: you deleted the new post, biggrin
Haha! Its plusnet fibre broadband and its crap...worse than the standard Sky one I had before.

But yes I deleted the second one... not sure why it posted again? I've had it happen a few times if you leave it on the thanks for your post message and then go back to It later.

Anyway thats my excuse.

Oh and thought Muller was ice cool...thats two long 5 setters now...ouch. As said above reckon he might go out next round. Cilic is up next and playing well and he's had a fairly easy ride.

The Nadal / Muller match was intense and a fantastic watch.

Looks like rain from early afternoon today based on the forecast so I guess the centre court roof will be getting some use.

Well played Muller - now watch him get knocked out in straight sets in the next round, that's what usually happens to players who knock Nadal out of Wimbledon early.
Muller is not a Rosol or a Brown he is a tough match player with consistent results, his seeding tells you all you need to know, ranked 26 in the world seeded 16...

having said this he is playing Cilic next and cannot see him winning that as Cilic is red hot right now but he has a chance

Venus Williams currently rolling back the years with some of the shots against Ostapenko. Hopefully Ostapenko can take it to 3 sets though as she's had a good run so far in her previous games on the outer courts.

Konta / Halep to follow. At least this time Konta wont have to put up with Ilie Nastase in the crowd heckling her with borderline racist as well as sexist & misogynistic cat calls, like he was doing during the Fed Cup earlier this year punch

Konta a set down - didn't think Halep had this kind of game for grass court tennis, she's playing really well.

This is proving to be a fantastic match, quite a battle. Great for women's tennis as well.

Epic stuff from Konta!

Have not enjoyed women's tennis as much as this for a long time.

Fantastic game - excellent result for Konta. Really looking forward to seeing her match up against Venus.

I forgot Halep was a loud screamer, although not in Sharapova's league - I had to nudge the volume down after a while hehe Speaking of screamers, the woman in the crowd right at the end of the Konta game needs a good slap for shrieking out like that.

I think the crowd in general have been poorly behaved this year, seems to be more alcohol going round.
Not sure if it's that or just a gradual decline in good manners. Bad though I agree.

I just watched that. Halep actually stopped.

Is the umpire not allowed to call a let and replay the point?

I assume it's a little like football and plying to the whistle. You keep playing until the point is over.

It is yes. One of the first things you are taught in professional tennis,You do not stop your play until the official call is made. That scream was ridiculous though but I can only assume the woman got carried away!!

Same thing happened with Murray on match point for his first wimbledon win...because a few in the crowd thought Novaks return was out just as Murray was about to hit....could have cost him and Konta.

Surely people can shut up until an official makes the call or the player raises their arms. If not do they really need to scream that loudly!

It did affect Halep's concentration and although she should have kept playing it may be difficult to differenciate a crowd call from a lines person on match point.
