Federer-Raonic next up. Fed will be looking for revenge for last years semi final defeat.

Murray, with a significant injury, just got very close to a grand slam semi final and people still question his abilities. I don't know what the man has to do.

Carry on ignoring the naysayers. They aren't worth his time. I for one have a long time appreciated his game, his attitude and his sense of humour (because he definitely has one) plus he is soppy about his dogs, he has to be a good person imo! (I am sure he loves his child and wife just as much biggrin )

Looking like it. Though I cannot tell if Federer is just on fire or if Raonic is just not playing as well as he can. I would be expecting more from his serves at least.

Agreed! He has nothing to prove.

Federer looking unbeatable at the moment.

An incredible role model and an object lesson in how to play the game.

Give Andy his due he kept going (no trainers out, no timeouts-though doubt was much they'd be able to do and no early retirement) a real shame but nothing against Querry, good guy and deserved win for him.
Apparently you can't have an injury time-out if it's a pre-existing injury (i.e. didn't occur during the match)
Yes I didn't know that until just after I'd written my post but can have trainers on, fair enough I guess.
Interesting to see Djokovic getting a time out for his right arm though he was having his elbow massaged etc in the clip I saw, not shoulder. Difficult to know if you could construe that to be pre existing or not.

Does Fed go back to number 1 if he wins the whole thing? Not bad for a man who'll be 36 in a few weeks.

Djokovic retired, at least Murray saw it through. Seriously though it is ashame when a match ends this way. Hope he can get it sorted.

I think only Novak can displace Andy during Wimbledon and he's just retired somany stays at the top I believe.

Can't dispute that! That was an incredible display! Raonic didn't stand a chance.

Based on Roger's game this afternoon, and with both Andy & Novak out, he's going to be the favourite now, but you never know I guess.

In the meantime, Heather & Henri are currently back in action in the mixed doubles.

Edit - and they've come from 2 games behind to take the first set smile

I didn't see anyone really questioning Murray's abilities recently , the guy has had an amazing career if it all ends here, I think most people would agree with that.

But he does have areas of his game he needs to work on again if he wants to win more slams....namely balanced agression, serve and service game concentration. He does make life hard work for himself even when he's not injured and thats because he gets too passive and plays too much percentage....he is of course a counter puncher by nature but his key wins have come when he's gambled a bit more.

He's set his bar so high we all expect so much of him all the time I guess and we know he's capable of winning much more easily at times and getting more GS's, I just want him to win the aussie and French, he deserves the aussie for sure.

I thought his interview was classy, no blaming it on injury when clearly it cost him today...in fact he never makes excuses when he loses. Complete opposite to Serena as its always that she didn't play well If she gets beaten.

Andy probably should have retired earlier, all he's doing is more damage and he probably couldn't play the next round. Good to see some unfamiliar faces in the semis.
I imagine he understands the risks and his body well enough to make a judgement call on that.

I'll be cheering for Cilic to win it now, especially as if Fed gets to the final he might come on in the white suit and gold gear. Yes it was in 2009 and it's nothing to do with how he plays tennis, but after he came on looking like this, I thought he was a smug arse, and I still think he's a smug arse now hehe .

Nicely summed up.

IMO, Roger has earned the right to wear whatever the hell he likes - and not just for his tennis. From a man who has twins, the fact he has two sets makes him a hero in my eyes (being able to afford live in nanny's for each child probably helps, but even so)!
