Possibly, though I think the men's doubles match that followed it more than made up for the disappointing womens final. I would have been happy.

They have said for a while the tennis circuit is a grueling one if you want your points for ranking. We see the showy grand slams what we often don't see is all the tennis they play in between, it is a year round sport, Maybe that needs addressing.
There is definitely something amiss when so many of the top players pull out through injury.

I'm going today, unfortunately not centre court. I'll be on court one, boys singles final, invitation men's doubles with Leyton Hewitt and invitation ladies doubles with martin navatrilova. Still should be fun. Taking a towel in case in we go sit on the hill for the main event.

I was spoilt last year, went to the men's semis.

Cmon Rog!

If they both play as they have throughout the tournament then it's hard to see anything other than a 3-0 win for Fed today.

It will be nice to see the GOAT win Wimbledon again however it's been a bit of a dry tournament for me - Nadal vs Muller was a great match but other than that I can't think of many other stand out matches.

Federer imperious, Cilic suffering with an injury of some sort. It's a pasting at the moment.

Shame H&H missed a couple of chances to get a break in the second set, but a fun match all the same. Really enjoyed Wimbledon this year, hope Konta continues to improve.
So did I except for the women's and men's finals both fell a bit flat for me but only because the winners were on fire! The other finals were great entertainment though.

Agree with that.

I thought Cilic was having a breakdown or something and thought he was gonna walk.

Turned out it was just his foot.

As for the Williams's, I don't think they like getting beat. Venus walked away from that performance with £1.1 million. She looked like she'd just won a tenner on a scratch card.

'Just his foot' underplays the significance of it really. Understandable he got emotional when he realised that it could cost him a win.

So what tournaments do we think Federer will play in the run up to US? Cincy for sure imo but will he go to Canada? my gut is no as at not been a happy hunting ground and could tire him out...

Will Murray be ok for US swing?

Well, Roger now missing Cincinnati which means Rafa will go back to number one this week.

Fed didn't look 100% in the Montreal final last night but that notwithstanding I thought Zverev was very impressive once again and I reckon he's the person most likely to come through and eventually displace Federer, Nadal, Djokovic and Murray at the top of the men's game. We've seen one or two up and coming stars who've been unable to produce the goods on a regular basis - Dimitrov springs to mind - but Zverev looks to be the real deal and is backing one good tournament up with another. He also seems to have the right attitude and work ethic and combined with his undoubted ability I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him win a Grand Slam before the end of next year; his post-match comments at the presentation last night even sounded Federer-like as well!

Not a 100% or just starting to look his age?

How many other great footballers and tennis players are still going at 36?

I think on his day, feeling rested, and with all his shots working he could still beat anyone, but no sportsmen is at their best at 36, no matter what the media say.

There are some of Federer's old Grand slam matches on Youtube. Take a look at how Federer could move back in his mid twenties.
