A couple of PH members having fun instructing at last weeks H4H charity shoots, lots of noise was made.

Still no confidence in the SA80 then - 19 weapons for just 4 of you biggrin

Just kidding, and a good cause too

Really miss my shooting days at cadets always preferred using the lee enfield rifles over the SA80 though, I always seemed to do better with the old rifles

I took my 1915 SMLE Mark III out on Saturday. Great time, some with the bayonet fixed. It always gets admired.

Just added a faithful copy of a Beretta 92FS to my little collection of CO2 and Air guns and rifles.

Remind me, do you have to be a member of a paintball skirmish group or similar to get black CO2 pistols? They count as "realistic imitation firearms" or something?

As we all know the law is strange. They are all .177 bb or pellet firing apart from the .22 air rifle. Which makes them all legal.

If they fire the larger plastic 6mm bb then you have to be a member of a Skirmish group.

Yep you wouldn't want to walk into a bank or even down the street with any of those as you'd be in a lot of trouble very quickly.

All bought from dealers and I just had to show ID.

Question for the PH shootists... Which box fed shotgun would you buy and why? Im working towards my ticket (about 2 months all being well) and trying to decide if I want a tricked up Br-99 or to spend the money on a vepr12... Over to you...

Just had the same dilemma and ended up with a Bora, seems to shoot any ammo, mags are cheap and there are nice add on bits available from T&N with a UK manufacturer making a metal lower receiver in the next few months too.

Ovenpaa?

That's what I was thinking... Any reason you didn't go Russian?

Yes Ovenpaa, I'm a big fan of the AR platform and most of my comp rifles are AR's so familiarity and price won even though the Vepr is better built. Just finished 5 days of competitive shooting at Bisley in the Imperial CSR and my 5.56mm AR15 is off to have a new barrel fitted, old one is shot out at ~15K rounds, the rifling is a bit bare. Back shooting the Imperial gallery competitions next week with the two carbines....

Out of date photo Dan! The carbine on the right now has a trigger upgrade, and one of those scopes on another rifle made a trip over the pond in my suitcase ... wink

Why do you want a box feed shottie ?

I've been there, done that, I had a. Saiga 12, and several, friends have had Saiga's and Vepr's, they are a bit of fun, but if you want to shoot comps, they are just too unreliable and fiddly, and part of the fun is the reloading, and making every shot count.

Most of us who have had a box feed shottie have gone back to tube feed.

well, I was actually planning to have both! I like the idea of mag fed as it becomes more about the shooting and less about reloading, but I also want to try and improve with a tube fed....

However, it's all a bit theoretical until my FEO decides whether I'm sane enough to get an FAC! wobble

Looking maybe at becoming a distributor for Proper Cartridges in the Cotswolds. Would anyone be interested in these, for collection / delivery in and around The Cotswolds?

Not heard of the brand before.
I couldn't see the range on the Temp site.
Do they offer a competition load?

Can anyone reccomend a fixed mag scope with good glass with a 40/40 ret for reasonable money for an air rifle? Illuminated ret would be nice, but not a requirement.

1 of my air rifle scopes has seen better days and having spent a good few years on a springer, the front lens is loose so has vented all the internal gas.

I currently have a russian copy of a S+B which I picked up for a song about 15 years ago, which is lovely, thats a 6x42, but I can't seem to find any one listing them anymore.

So, due to a move to much less land, and waiting lists for clubs in the area, I may have to give up my .22

But I still need to remove vermin from the land - should an air rifle over 12ft/lb fit the bill? If so, what? Talk to me people! smile

Over 12ft means FAC - may as well keep the .22 surely ?
